So much for being a Doctor
The person who posted this is a Doctor I believe... Isn't the one thing you really want to be a doctor is Empathy .. empathy towards people .. empathy towards your Patient Have people stooped so low that we are not talking about the what happened to the individual to take such a step and educating people about stress and mental health rather we are gonna cry that we work more and no one is grateful for them

It's all about comparisons now a days!.
Everyone is comparing themselves to others, be it in money, success or who is more of a victim!!
Trying to play a bigger victim .. isn't this just the same has .. tum kya bataoge .. humare jamaane mein toh .. and then lecture how everything is difficult for them .. and they can tell the world about it .. but someone else tries to do the same is considered weak and privileged

Apty said, The insecurity of the doctor is matched only by a CA in practice.
Most doctors are overworked - it's a fact. Talk to any Medical student (PG/UG) and they will tell you the amount of hours they have to put in just so that the hospital they are studying at/are associated with is operational. There is always a shortage of staff across functions - be it doctors, nurses, etc. The fact this person is trying to highlight is that not enough attention is given to this issue faced by the medical staff.
This has nothing to do established doctors running their own clinics and having a comparatively comfortable life.

doctors are overworked only till their residency days if they do a PG.. That's a round 10 years from when they finish their MBBS. Even during residency, that 36Hrs schedule is not continuous. Its usually a 2 or 3 weeks in a month. Beyond that its simply their greed. Most of the doctors have a private practice beyond their hospital hours? why?
BTW has any doctor condemned the doctor who prescribes unnecessary tests/ surgery or steals kidney etc? they all crib immediately when one get assaulted. But no noise when one of them is guilty of mal practice.
I know another group that does this kind of behavior. when ever there is a bomb blast, you will have people jump up immediately to say this is not the real ideology but just a random misguided youth.
As a rule of thumb - never shed a tear for a doctor.

It's actually lack of empathy towards doctors that prompted this doctor to write about it, and fairly so.
Doctors are expected to do 24-36 hour shifts for some weird reason, no other profession does that. It is inhumane but normalised like manual scavenging.
So many people give up on being a doctor or become jaded after becoming one and seeing what humanity is like on an everyday basis. Empathetic doctors are rare because they are the ones who get beaten in India for doing their job.
Most of the people are aware about the need for doctor, no society could work without them... But that's doesn't mean you get to cry "how difficult the life has been to you and no one is grateful for you.". every person has consicous and can decide what are they doing and is there an impact of their work .. and doctors would the first one to see the direct result or feedback for their work, secondly there has been recognition for their work from their patient, from people around them, from fraternity around the world, and more should follow but that's doesn't mean you will keep on asking for it, thirdly the issue that is being talked about is about mental health, someone lost their life, someone lost their family member, a friend, doctors should the first one being the advocate of telling people to talk about their life and giving up your life for work or anything shouldn't be the scenario.
You just cannot go to someone deadthbed and cry how people don't give you enough credit..
The post wasn't about you(doctor), the post was about nothing is more important than your well being .. that's it.
And if some of the doctors are really craving this much of credit and privilege they really should think about their professional choices

You're missing the point buddy. If in our society even doctors are depressed, how do you expect them to treat patients with illnesses and depression?
Consultants are still replaceable. Doctors, not so much.

Oh, the irony! A doctor lacking empathy. Maybe they should stick to treating diseases, not people. Stress is real, not a myth.
Doctors are overworked my real brother is an doctor in a central institute and some times I really think that being a doctor is a lot more tougher he is currently doing MD and hardly get any time to sleep he only sleeps around 2-3 hours a day

yea only till his pg. After that he's gonna rake in ton of money. Consulting goes on till you're on the job.
in before engineers/ truckers/ pilots/ policemen/ factory worker/ daily wager etc are overworked too.
sabka kaam dhanda hota hi hai, ye keechad uchalna koi improvement nahi hai.
