Hi folks, I have freelanced on upwork earlier and maximum reached $20/hour in development gigs but got burned out by constant pressure of rebidding once the current project gets over. The profile is still 5 star rated but getting full time job through these freelancing platform require lots of marketing and bidding and it’s difficult with day job. However recently I have seem trend where there are some genuine folks such as harkirat who are upping the game by earning around 5 crore annually through posh remote jobs. Has anyone of you tried pursuing that route by reaching out to founders of early stage startups on twitter/linked in or used freelancing portals such as upwork to get full time gigs which pays more than $100k remotely. I must have applied for dozens of jobs on LinkedIn job portal. At times companies don't reply or I mostly get automated rejection emails. PS - I'm someone with more than a decade and a half experience. So my target roles are a little senior.

Hey Folks, Wishing you all a very happy new year in advance. I require some guidance, so thought of asking it here. My main goal for 2024 is to become a ‘modern’ LinkedIn / Social Media Influencer. Once I have achieved enough following, my next goal is to sell my ( overpriced and already available gyaan ) courses to people who are into tech industry. This would ensure , I have enough leeway and funds in case I want to start my own startup. Now, I have the course ready already , I just need to click the submit button to publish on Udemy. But even if I do that no one is going to purchase my course because right now , I ain’t popular. Any advice on how should I approach this ? How do I go around selling my courses and also simultaneously become the next big influencer on LinkedIn?

I’m starting a new channel called Humans of LinkedIn, where I will talk about all the hardships faced by the Influencers and Top Voices on LinkedIn in getting customers for their Topmate or course pages. The idea is to help people build a brand for themselves so that they can sell their services to people who are in genuine need of help and/or mentorship. If you are helping people for free, that is not acceptable by us, because we believe people should only help people for money. P.S. We will only accept sob stories, and if you do not have a sob story, we will help you create one. P.P.S. Out here for making money, so don’t expect us to publish your stories for free.

It is fun sometimes but I feel that's 20% off it. There are 99 reasons wherein you feel like giving up daily but somehow you stick along & keep going. The stories we read online or anywhere else of riches are quite few but you feel a complete let down wherein somebody made insane money in 3 years & you are struggling for 5 years+ making some money but not what you imagined. I run a profitable bootstrapped business for 5+ years & some days are hard coz everybody is hopping on new tech (eg: Crypto, AI) & you might be doing the same old stuff & don't know how to pick yourselves up to learn something new. People are getting funded & making insane money in secondaries, etc. Then dealing with bullshit on the internet. Everyone on LinkedIn is successful, putting numbers & gyaan. Some days are overwhelming & you feel being super rich comes with a lot of factors in your favor & tradeoffs as well. Bas, tumhara number aaya nahi hai ya shayad hi aayega. Rant over.

What side hustles do you guys do to earn some extra cash, and how do you do it? Is there some easy way to get started without necessarily moonlighting?

Can someone provide valuable insight about how to get a remote job in MERN development? What are the difficulties someone can face? How to apply/get referrals for the Job opportunities.? Any Job portal where they hire from? What salary range I should expect? Note- I have industry experience of about 1.5 years but not in Web development (MERN). I'm learning MERN on my own and making some end-to-end projects.
