Transition to SDE

I am a technical support engineer with less than two years of experience in the industry. I am working in tier 2 support where it's not much of telecommunication but is fairly technical, tool based though and I feel the urge to switch to an SDE role as i feel my knowledge base is getting restricted to a mere tool than the technology around. How should I approach the companies and switch the domains?

Hey everyone, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Have any of you successfully aced an interview solely through tutorials, YouTube, or side projects without hands-on work experience? I am a SDET exploring a transition to SDE role, internally tried within my company ,not happening due to various reasons, hence trying to switch over. In order to achieve that, I've worked on full-stack sidd projects, practiced DSA, and made a good "tailored" CV that gets me interview calls. But I am currently facing mixed experiences in interviews. I am able to answer a few but struggle with some questions and seek advice on how to improve. Any suggestions for this career switch are greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton

I am a data scientist with 4.5 years of experience and want to transition to software engineering. In DS, we do not code the ways its done in SW roles. Moreover, I am not from CS background. How do I get started on preparing to get into tier 1 companies as SWE / SDE if I want to achieve this in the next 1/1.5 years?

Hi all, I’ve been working with oracle for almost 2 years. It feels stagnant now. No new skills, newtech to work upon, moreover my position is Associate SDE but I’ve been with QA team since beginning. I’ve talked to manager regarding same but no fruitful outcome. I feel stuck. Im actively looking for switch but can’t figure out which skills to study or start from bcoz different companies ask gor different skillset. And my profile looks more like automation tester then SDE. Pls help !!

I have been working at a financial company for last 8 months (my first job out of college). I don't like the work and contemplating switching to SDE roles. Does it make sense to switch to SDE? Also is career growth and compensation generally higher for SDEs?
