[Rant] Recently saw so many comments where someone was called 'Overpaid'
It was interesting to see in a previous post that many people thought that the OP was ‘overpaid’ Two things: 1. The market pays what the market pays 2. Stop assigning true value to human time (its not a T-shirt that you can assign a true value to) In my POV the guy/girl is making more than the average person his or her age. Kudos and Congratulations. Now you go do the same. End of rant.

agreed - and tbh, OP mentioned he made ~20LPA, which is pretty normal PM pay for a well-funded startup.
for reference, blinkit offered 50LPA (30 base + 5 JB + 15 esops) to fresh grads at IITK.

Was this a outlier ? I was thinking the avg base would be 20 and TC 30 in Top 5 IITs.

Exactly. Part of us is jealous thinking about that much money in that (young) age.
Someone who had worked for handful years knows how early bump in salary changes future (and present living standards)
I'm one of those, thanks 😃 I've been working since before I was a teenager but uncles and aunties on any platform wouldn't see that beyond the money I make :)
People were coping just on a 20lpa package. They are gonna piss their pants if my batchmates starts writing their packages. Old IIT cs
