Am I being fooled @Yubi?

Another year around and last year was dry with literally 0 percent hike. My salary not been increased for past two years and this year my hopes are going down. The PMS cycle was supposed to be on May 1st. We were supposed to get manager ratings. When I checked it wasnt even case and they dont even communicate of such a delay. They just keep it closed doors and this is what I see as transparency. Already I have many exits voluntarily. When I was demanded for work day and night. they said company will reward people meritocritic and now when I turn them back and ask they arent even interested with sharing date on when the appraisal would come. What should I do I feel being cheated after 2 years of working day and night? Any news or this is going to be one another year of their sick promises and betrayals?

"Fool me one time, shame on you Fool me twice, can't put the blame on you" Introspect why you haven't switched yet and put in the hard work and switch. Companies always look after their own interests and ambitions. You should look after yours. They don't owe you anything. You don't owe them anything too. Figure out minimum 3 hours a day to put in interview preparation and switch.

I had good manager and good colleagues atleast some of them. I was working at latest tech stack given enough opportunities and yes I had whatever I needed. They made me carry individual responsibility never doubted on my work and gave flexibility. My managers were human atleast. But I guess they did this all to extract work of me. I wasnt able to prepare because of constant deliverables day and night work with one singular promise that the rewards would be great. And when the first year of appraisal turned out to be gray I was made to believe that the person who shows commitment and accountability even in tough times would remain first priority in any case.

I totally understand. I empathise with you. Trust me I have been there. Worked day and night for years, weekends, long nights till 4-5 AM in the morning. I learned the lesson the hard way. I don't want anyone to go through this again. I wish you the best. Don't trust verbal commitments, most of the time in corporate they are just empty promises.

Inflation is around 9 percent, no matter what the official numbers say. If your salary was 1 lakh (2 years back) in practical terms after inflation your salary is around 82,000 currently. This should be a wake up call. So your salary hasn't remained the same, in fact, the company has contributed in decreasing your salary. Don't let anyone do this again to you and to your salary. You and your hard work should get valued and appreciated. Don't let anyone take you and your hard work for granted.

I should never have believed I guess. I was thinking all good people in corporate. My manager HR all said soft words that you are the valuable resource and it was true to a point. I got more and more work entire new application to build from scratch. However, after first year of 0 appraisals I became skeptical. Then came the macroeconomic conditions which forced them to do I thought. They even convinced me that the next year you would be rewarded what you deserve and because of your consistent delivery, you will be receive rewarding career here. Having said all that and market conditions outside I decided to spend this year. Now HR people is ghosting me even my managers are not telling a firm thing about ratings.

Wait for some more surprises coming your way. Got to know that the calibration meetings have been rescheduled again. Once this is finalized, the appraisal amount discussion will be initiated

Again when would they realize announce. I heard GK calibration has already started. Even with a very lowball around 5 percent appraisal why do they have to do this many meetings? I totally dont get it

Unhappy with the hike i got

Hi Grapeviners Recently got a hike of mere 2%, even after working day and night and delivering projects on time. I was hoping for a good hike and a promo. Some politics from business and HR really screwed my case. Should i talk to: 1. HR: Raise the issue and tell them that i'm unhappy and make it official 2. Talk to Manager, now that genie is the out of the box, I don't think they can do much How do you end up dealing with a situation like this?

Rampant Negativity at Yubi Part 2

Just wanted to give some updates now that it has been 1 month since the last post 1) Senior Leadership from Tech (3) , a senior director from Product , Finance Head have all resigned. Strategy team has been dissolved. 2) There are more people in the pipeline and will get more clarity by month end. 3) Everyone over the CTC of 60 lakh has been asked about the revenue that they bring in and based on that, their position is being reconsidered. 4) All contract workers have been terminated. Interns have been told that they won't be receiving PPOs. 5) Senior Management Has been asked to take 20% paycuts. 6) Even at Junior level, people have been asked to take pay cuts or resign. 7) Lots of tools used in tech are being removed and AWS subscription has also been revised. Meanwhile HRs have been celebrating on slack channels that Yubi has been ranked in Top 25 companies for career development :/

Not fair

I recently switched my job, and my new employers were asking if I could refer someone and I reached out to my junior (fresher, 1 YOE now) at my previous employer and got his resume and he was asking about how much compensation to expect. The number he was expecting was 3x of my salary at my previous employer, naively i assumed that his compensation would <= as mine (I was more experienced and my performance was 📈) and told him : "with current market conditions it's difficult for that, you cannot expect 3x" and he tells me it's not 3x but 2x and I was like 😮. The compensation that he was Getting as a fresher was more than what I was getting paid despite having more experience. I had to switch job to get the same compensation that they are offering to freshers. All this time my ex-manager and lead know about this and never fought on my behalf, I feel betrayed. Now my mood is all f***ed.

Disappointed!!

So I work in a new york based startup and they hired me as project manager. I am from tech bg with 1 year of experience and no mgmt experience. Completing 2 years in this company and have created processes from scratch to increase team size and team dynamics. There was one conversation which HR heard out of context and started politics with CEO. Now in my review their "trust" overshadowed my "performance". They even out of nowhere telling my leaves were not judiciary! Now i don't trust this company anymore. Already my managers were too underperforming and disappointing. There were many scenarios where I took in charge of anyone's absence and even in my absence took care of things. They giving NO raise !!! Not even something to match inflation! I am feeling very exhausted with company's policy and CEO being nosy in each and everything. And too disappointed in company's "trust" definitions. Talked to my manager and cleared out my performance. Talking to CEO in next days to reclarify their issues. Any help or word of advise???

Underpaid Senior PM

I have 6.5 + YOE and have a CTC of 20L (fixed + bonus) How do I achieve parity with regards to salary? My next appraisal cycle is in March but obviously due to the economic conditions my company might not give me a great raise even though my performance has been good this year. Any suggestions?

Third round of silent layoffs are happening at Yubi. The company is at cross roads with no real revenue being generated. Last year itself Ebidta turned negative. Cost cutting all benefits revoked. No hike given this year not even some percentage. 6 people thrown off without even a word directly asked to handover laptop. Whole organization is under confusion. Chaos and panic everywhere. What should I do now any ideas are welcome. Too much pressure that I literally not practising DSA, design as even work from office is being monitored. They even monitor timed we go out or go for restroom I guess. I dont know what to say....

I feel I am being played!

I have been working in my company for over 4 years now, each time it's time for Appraisals I am told the company cannot go beyond 7%. But I have progressed in my role through the years and I have delivered excellent growth results this year when the context has been dull. I am super frustrated it could end up with being handed a 7% increment and of course a football to take home, especially after my meeting with my manager. It's getting to me now!
