Decision to give CFA

I m a student currently pursuing btech in entc from 1 of the top prestigious college in pune. When i pass out i can easily get 14 lpa (my batch's avg package ) i m avg in academics but always know what i am doing. But my goals are diff i m planning to make a switch into finance and get into either a vc or pe role or even the sell side investment role is fine for me. The bare minimum is i will work at a startup in finance or marketing role. But i dont want to do enggineering dont know why i never liked it and feel trapped here. I have no finance or accountin experience or core knowledge i have learned few things from internent but i dont think thats enough. I m planning to attempt cfa and give various sebi registered certification exams like research analyst , aifa etc . And then by getting 2/3 years exp i will even try for mba at iims. Am i on the right path on my career please provide your opinion or guidance . Thank you

I'm a chem engineer with MBA in Finance (Tier 2 cllg). While pursuing my MBA I had two priorities clear - 1. Dont want a sales role & 2. Don't want to join a tech company (not exactly good with tech stack). As luck would have it, I joined IBM few months ago in a sales role 🥲 Since then I have been thinking a lot about my future. I need some external advice as I am already biased against the sales role - 1. In a situation like mine, should one immediately switch profile if possible or get some experience in sales before trying to switch? 2. Is it even possible to make the switch if I spend a couple of years here? 3. How difficult it is to make the switch to finance roles (financial analyst or similar) without a CFA and solely on MBA finance? I'm prepping for CFA but will appear next year post April. TIA

Hey peeps 👋🏻 I'm a software engineer but I had a deep interest in finance. S how can I get into Finance roles like IB and analyst. So right now I have given NISM certification test but thinking about CFA but that is really one of its dedication resources like money and time both required so slightly skeptical about giving it awaiting your suggestions guys

My background : Work ------ 2.6 years of Work experience as Software Engineer in WITCH Company handling the middleware and some devops operations in my project. Education ----------- B.tech in CSE from a Tier 2 college I started my career a bit late compared to my peers because of some bad decisions in past but I was able to get back on track and gain industry experience . Since past year I realized I haven't grown much career wise . I had plans to pursue Masters earlier but postponed it because of COVID and I realised it's better to gain some experience before going abroad. I didn't want to pursue a traditional CS Masters degree since I wanted to explore and learn something new . That's when I came across HCI and over the months my interest in it has deepened . I did take some courses related to HCI and UX to get better understanding. Skills ------ I have fairly decent front end skillset with good basics in HTML, CSS , JavaScript and ReactJS . Started learning Figma recently I want to land jobs as UX Engineer where I do a bit of design and coding . I have got admits from good universities which have specialization in HCI . I wanted to know if it's a good decision to go for masters now and pursue this field .

So basically an Engineering plus MBA guy here , stuck in a job that has nothing to do with finance under a manager who undermines every effort towards simplifying things and I'm considering upgrading myself to something better. So CFAs of grapevine what do you recommend , wher to start what to avoid and everything in between

I am 22yo and just graduated from a tier 3 college with Btech degree. Currently placed in a startup as a Frontend Engineer CTC 7LPA remote. I am confused should I prepare for masters and do that or should I work hard in FE and switch after 1-2 year for better pay. And what one should do? Masters in Cs or MBA , I know both are different but still confused.

I (M22) currently have about 8 months (2023) of SWE experience working at a European tech company making roughly 12Lpa. I am planning of going for a MBA in the next 2-3 years but only if I get into a top b-school. I am highly ambitious and hope to climb the MANGA corporate ladder to a C suite/exec level position in the next 15-20 years. Will an MBA make sense for my goals and what sort of roles do tech giants usually hire for from top iims/isb and the likes? Is going for a MBA going to fast track my career or should I just grind the swe -> sdm -> director path with just a B.Tech degree ( Tier-2 private university)

Hello Grapevine folks, I am currently a final year student at one of the IIIT. I am not satisfied in pursuing a tech role in future . Since I want to change my career I am clear that I have to go in management role . But I have not decided which specialisation I am inclined to . I will attempt CAT exam this year . Should I also prepare for CFA ? Does it increases placement and career prospects after and during MBA? Please guide me what should I do.

Hi everyone, I am an engineering student of IT (graduating in 2025) at a tier 2 college (a new iiit), and looking at the market conditions I have decided to pursue mba and have been preparing for CAT 2024 for the past 3 months along with placements preparation. Although I am pretty confident in my CAT preparation (I am getting decent marks in sectional and full length mocks), still anything can happen. And because of CAT preparation I also can't fully focus on my placement preparation (preparing for ML and data scientist roles). To do my best in any one of the two I will have to focus on that one thing so pretty soon I will have to choose one, what should I do? Even if I give my best for my placements I don't think I will end up with a job of more than 7-8lpa.(And this is best case) All of it is very stressful, financially also my family isn't very well to do.
