UPSC Coaching

Hello everyone, I am currently facing a career dilemma and would greatly appreciate your advice and insights. I'm not able to reach any conclusion even after giving it a lot of thought. For context, I've done my Btech in Mech from one of the top NITs and I'm currently working in an Oil PSU (2 years work experience as of June 2024). While the job has been stable and rewarding, I really want to prepare for UPSC CSE as it has been a dream since school days. (Ik many people dream of it) Financially my family is in a comfortable position, which can give me the flexibility to pursue this. However, thinking practically it feels a little risky and scary considering my current job. My current job role requires me to travel frequently and no chance of wfh as well. I'm 24 years old right now, let's say if I give two attempts for this exam that process will take time till 2026. And in case I'm not able to clear prelims of even 2026 attempt, I'll prepare for CAT. In this case: 1. By the time I complete my MBA I'll be 28. Is this too late to enter again in the corporate world? (Might be okay if I get IIMs) 2. If I'm not able to clear CAT, then what would I do? What are my options? (Pardon me if I'm not clear) Has anyone here made a similar switch or knows someone who has? I would love to hear your experiences, advice, and any guidance you can provide. Ps: I've already started my prep with job as I cannot afford to waste time till I make any decision. Thank you for your time and help!

Hi guys, I am Prakhar. I was an UPSC aspirant since last 5 years and it didn't culminate in success. Now I want to start my journey in IT. I have been preparing for DevOps and Business Analyst role and have gathered skills in Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, AWS, Shell Scripting, SQL, Power BI. If you have any leads regarding these roles please help me out. I am in a great need of a job, even an intership will do.

Anyone preparing for civil services?is it a good idea to have a backup after 2 attempts and is it good to take a break from a upsc for one year?

Hi, I have been thinking of taking some paid and live courses to keep me consistent and accountable. Does anyone have experience with scaler academy courses ? Are they worth the price they are asking? Please recommend any other good paid courses you found for upskilling which have a component of live classes.

Thinking of taking a break for approx 1/1.5 years from tech, and trying for UPSC / PSC. Wanted to understand how hard would it be to get back in corporate after the gap ? If someone has successfully tried and can share their experience, it would be really helpful.

I've started watching UPSC lectures by Dr. Vikas Divyakirti out of curiosity (not an aspirant). UPSC syllabus covers a broad range of subjects. Do we have folks here who attempted / prepared for the exams? Interested in knowing how it may have helped broaden the perspective and grow in career.

Can we have a moderator to allow posts. I am guilty of commenting on such posts by getting triggered. This app has helped me a lot and I have even made 2 friends download it. But now I can't stand Indian/atate politics getting mentioned in every thread.
