Layoff guide

Next month I will be getting laid off. Our startup is shutting down because of no funding I am a frontend dev there it's almost 5months I have been working there before that I worked for 8 months as a frontend intern in another startup. My question is what is the main platform I need to focus on or any technique or anything you want to say that might help me to find a new job pls do comment It would be super helpful. If you were in my position what step you would take or any technique you would use that might help you to get a job easily without waiting for months?

Was in the same boat some months ago, My startup too was about to close as most of the research team were laid off and the company was about to shut down. It took me 1 month to get a new job. Platforms that actually work are instahyre, wellfound and LinkedIn. I would highly recommend using instahyre with a good resume. Don't loose your track and start something new, focus on brushing skills you already have. If you urgently need one do consider working as an intern as it's relatively easier to get than a full-time job.

Hey bro,

I was just going through my old posts. Man, I'm still looking for a job. I've given more than nine interviews and failed all of them 🥲. Even after answering all the questions right, they rejected me. It's been almost seven months that I'm unemployed 🥲.

Can you share more insights on where you failed? were those the same mistakes you repeated or different each time. Rejection is bad but what did you learn from them that's what matters. Please DM me or we can talk over telegram - same username.

Top 3 things in my mind to focus on -

  1. Actively use LinkedIn search feature - Use “hiring + job_role” and you’ll be able to see more opportunities across the platform.

  2. Buy naukri premium - I think it costs 1800rs something and your profile will be highlighted to recruiters for few months. (Not associated with naukri in any capacity).

  3. Leverage your network - Talk to people working in same domain, utilise them for mock interviews, learning wider picture related to vertical and ask for referrals.

Hope this helps.
