- OneCare founders Rakesh Shivran and Sagar Bhat will join Acko’s leadership as part of the acquisition strategy to expand healthcare solutions.
- OneCare raised $1 million in seed funding in 2021 and had revenues of Rs 7.3 lakh and a loss of Rs 1.4 crore in FY22. Latest financials were not available.
- Acko, founded in 2016, has distributed over 1 billion policies and served 78 million-plus customers, raising $598 million in funding to date.
- This acquisition marks Acko’s third, following the purchases of Vler in 2019 and Parentlane in 2023, as it continues to invest in and partner with various startups.

Ixigo, an online travel aggregator, is going public next week, targeting Rs 740 crore ($89 million) primarily through a sale of shares by existing investors.

The IPO is expected to value Ixigo at Rs 3,600 crore ($430 million), 20% higher than its 2021 private valuation. Ixigo's financials show strong growth, with a 32% increase in operating revenue to Rs 501 crore in FY23 and a net profit of Rs 23 crore. Ixigo's valuation appears to be a potential bargain compared to peers like EaseMyTrip and MakeMyTrip.

Existing investors like Elevation Capital and Peak XV Partners are set to make significant returns, with Elevation expected to make a 13X return.

Unacademy's focus has shifted more towards the offline market, which is now a central part of their business. The online test-prep operation is expected to decrease in 2023.

There have been other top-level exits at Unacademy recently. The company has raised significant funding over the past few years, with its valuation reaching over $3 billion.

The lending app Fibe has raised $90 million in a new funding round, nearly doubling its valuation to close to $600 million. The round was led by TR Capital, Amara Partners, and Trifecta Capital, with existing investors TPG and Norwest also participating. 

Fibe provides unsecured personal loans of up to Rs 5 lakh, competing with players like KreditBee and Moneyview. It is profitable, with a net profit of Rs 88 crore for the 9 months ending December 2023. Its loan book has more than tripled in the last 2 years, reaching Rs 3,431 crore as of December 2023.

The company had to write off loans worth Rs 94 crore in the 9 months ending December 2023, over twice the Rs 44.5 crore in FY23. Its NBFC had a gross NPA of 2.86% in December 2023, down from 3.5% in March 2023.

I've completed 1 year in my first job. I've tried saving and investing some money, help me decide what I can do better:

Income: 22LPA

PPF: 3 Lakh
EPF: 2 Lakh
MF: 5 Lakh
Saving Account: 4.5 Lakh

Income for new FY post increment: 29LPA

I did these savings based on some advice from my elder brother.

I'd like to spend more this year though, with some travel and going out more, maybe even purchase a scooty/bike and a PS5 😁 - would these expenses be justified?

Apart from improving my savings & investments and 
still being able to afford a few luxuries, I want to know if I should get any of these:

- Health Insurance - Only 5 Lakh cover from company for me and my parents (note - parents are getting old)
- Life Insurance - Do we really need it, I'm still 24?

 “Both Mihir and Divyansh bought houses worth crores of rupees. All this was done when the company still had no steady revenue,” says a third former employee, requesting not to be identified. 
  
 The buyback “is very similar to a founder secondary [just a different structure],” says a VC investor, asking not to be named. “Founder shares are typically locked in. So, if it is a small amount, <Rs 10 crore type in a mature company, yes. Else, likely no.”

- Urban Company, a home service marketplace, has shown impressive growth since its inception, with operating revenue reaching Rs 827 crore in FY24, up from Rs 248 crore in FY21.
- The company reported a 30% year-on-year increase in revenue for FY24, while also achieving a 70% reduction in losses, which fell to Rs 93 crore from Rs 312 crore in FY23.
- Despite the positive financials, Urban Company noted that these figures are unaudited and may differ from the actual balance sheet to be released soon.
- In Q1 FY25, the company recorded Rs 281 crore in revenue, a 37.3% increase compared to Q1 FY24, with an operating EBITDA of Rs 7 crore.
- The firm also highlighted that female service partners earned 23% more per hour than their male counterparts in H2 CY23, and the company charged an average commission of 25% from service partners.

My car insurance is expiring next month so I'm planning to purchase a new insurance but my car has passed 5 years so seeing if any good car insurance is available with zero depreciation. I have checked Acko app which was giving more coverage but just want to make sure if there any other good options available or how is the experience with acko if anyone has availed acko car insurance.

Note : I have claimed my insurance last year so no NCB bonus for me this time as someone told me.
