I’m currently working at a startup as a full stack SWE and looking to switch to a different organization soon. I want to add those “Accomplished X as measured by Y, by doing Z” bullet points to my resume… but not sure how I can quantify my exact impact in terms of revenue, productivity, or any other business or software-related metrics. 

(I work at a B2B company, so I work on internal tools and dashboards instead of direct customer-facing software.)

How do you quantify impact as a SWE?

So in my present PM job, I have only worked on and scaled 3 major 0 to 1 products. Now my question is how do I write it in my resume in the most effective way. For example for an existing product, I would use the following structure: Improved X by Y% by doing Z. But in 0 to 1 products you don't have any benchmarks. Need tips or input on how to go about writing it.

Hi, i work in the Investment Banking role at a big reputed firm but my role is sort of backend only. Recently i have been applying to a lot of jobs in the IB profile (other profiles where i apply are: equity research analyst, Corporate strategy etc.) but my resume is not getting shortlisted anywhere. First year of brand marketing job for an early series, well funded fintech startup. 

My previous (first) job had ₹45K (5.5LPA) in hand after a role upgrade, but for this job I had to move out of my city, use up all my emergency fund, have a LOT more expenses now and the in-hand came up to just ₹51K (6.5LPA + 1L bonus + esops)

Had no leverage at the time of signing so didn't say anything. 

The real kicker? I was hired as part of a strat change that the founder pushed for, and my impact has been immediate and undeniable. Our metrics doubled within 6 months of me joining and we're a respected brand in our vertical. 

I am doing gigs on the side to start rebuilding my emergency fund coz salary se barely kuch bachta hai.

I want a comp revision before the appraisal, but too nervous to ask for it.

Could use some advice or just tell me if I'm being a dumbass for having these expectations
