Appraisal Problem

I completed 3 months in the organization, and appraisal season started, how to tackel questions of how much hike should I get or ask for?

If I don't ask I will be stuck until like 15 months on same salary. How to deal with it.

If you're social, ask around what's the average or general hikes that are given. If you're not friends with any, ask for a 30-40% hike. Most they can say is No. Negotiate from there to a number they are ready to offer.

Usually I've never seen a company ask an employee how much appraisal they'd like, it's the company that decides. It's only after they give it out that you can fight for a bit more, but you need to show for it.

What? Why would one get a hike right after 3 months? Should've rather asked for a better number while joining

You need to be with an organisation for 6 months to get a hike during annual appraisal cycle. I thought that’s the norm in most Indian companies.

You should be lucky to get any hike 🤣
