I'm a software engineer and have been living in Bangalore for over 3 years now and thinking of starting a family and settling at either Bangalore or Delhi NCR.

I have seen the disaster infrastructure Bangalore has plus the very high cost of living and hence thinking of moving to Delhi NCR.

I am a middle class guy working as a senior engineer in one of the product companies. I belong from the north-east, and I am the only child in my family. 

Since covid, I was working in a wfh setup. Recently, my company has ended work from home for everyone, and I am supposed to move to Bangalore very soon or quit. 

I am an active user on all social media groups on Reddit, Fb, etc. For the past couple of months after seeing so much of negative news about Bangalore, Especially the high population, skyrocketing rents, the auto unions, corruption, cut-throat competition, discriminative news, traffic issues, etc. It makes me nervous to be honest. My wfh here was pretty chill, and I had a very limited social circle here, but was satisfied since I could spend most time with my mom and dad. 

Im very afraid now about what should I do next, shall I quit the job and search for wfh, or shall I make my move. I don’t have any acquaintances there, no friends, no idea about what I’ll be doing next, how to start house hunting, or job hunting. At this point I am miserable and overwhelmed to think about all of this. 

Anyone who has gone through all of these, If you can share your 2cents, experiences or thoughts, about how you dealt this phase. It will be really helpful for me at this point in my journey. Thanks in advance! 🙏🏻

Afraid about moving to Blr

My previous organisation was 100% remote, I have got two offers, one of them providing around 40% hike.

the other option is giving lesser base hike but I can take approvals for 100% remote. (need to convince manager, that I can work independently)


What would you choose? Help me understand your POV?

Many people hate the life in bangalore but harsh truth is we don’t have many opportunities in NCR. Eventually people move to Bangalore.

Hey folks, I recently moved to Bangalore for a role at angel one and I am not liking the city. All my life I lived and worked in NCR and I’ve realised that me and my wife can’t live anywhere outside NCR. No friends in Blr plus far away from home plus its just too expensive. 

Want to move back, I am looking for product rolesin NCR(SPM,GPM). Can someone help here with a referral? I have a very strong fintech background but can’t find anything for Ncr location on other platforms.

I work as a project manager for an international company. They’re planning to put an office in Delhi in the next 2-3 months. Currently I work fully remote, they’re hinting at me going on-site in Delhi cause they want me to take up a leadership position. 

I am born and brought up in Mumbai, living in Bangalore for about 2 years. I absolutely love Bangalore and I’m not that keen on moving. 

Is there someone who’s moved to Delhi? How’s the experience been for you? What can I expect?
