Bangalore: peak "Living in a Bubble" behavior

Sooo I feel like Bangalore is a city that lives on Hype, everyone is just trying to be cool and are too afraid of actually call out stuff for what they are. Few examples (my personal opinion) Eat Naru - it’s good ramen, but you can definitely find better or as good (bookings are sold out in minutes) Pizza 4Ps - Average pizza, great hospitality but not worth waiting for a booking a month in advance Ultrahuman ring - It’s not even that accurate for that price March Tee - good T-shirt, but you can find so much better at that price point I like to call this the Bangalore Hype Train xP

There’s either water logging or no water at all There’s either stand still traffic or spend 3 days in the car traffic Bangalore airport is in Hyderabad But the weather is good and there’s cherry blossoms macha!

We also have UPI, we too book cabs, we too have famous food places and better in most cases. We face traffic too, it rains in other parts of India too. You all need to calm down

Instagram drives fomo have created epidemic of status driven consumption like ₹2500 for a one hour class of pottery, strawberry picking for Rs. 2000. What happened to free activities like playing morning cricket or enjoying IPL finale with your best friends / family . Bangalore economy is running on fomo

Living in Bangalore is like participating in a daily obstacle course of stupidity these days. It's like the city is hosting the World Championships of Not Using Common Sense. Day by day, it’s getting crazy in here. People are literally just straight-away stupid. Picture this: I'm in the metro, following the line like some good boii. But no, here come the backline breakers, sprinting ahead like they just got the memo that the free WiFi is about to expire. They won’t even have the patience to let others deboard from the station (bs ghusna hai sbko). On the road: Small Aile is there, and these morons either walk in the middle of the road or walk slowly like they are going to maaiyat. There is no way to even overtake them. One day a couple was literally just standing in the middle of the fucking metro entry gate, and all other people were going from sides. I was literally at my fucking limits; I controlled the urge to ask them that whatever shit they're discussing, if that is a national concern, then it’s okay; otherwise, please fuck around on the side. And what’s up with this throwing garbage on the road thing, literally every morning on the road, tons of food, spillage, and disposals of whatnot can be seen. God, please throw it in the trash.

In my org people have been creating that vibe where they are very sophisticated about their actions, the way they speak etc, they behave like we are working in a US based startup where they are using western lingo and all together a different way to communicate. I have worked in other startups in other cities but didn’t find this type of culture. Is this common or am I missing something? What are your thoughts?

Keeping my biases aside, I've seen 2 sides of the entire people's behaviour and culture: 1. Locals (folks from the city/state) are known to refer to the ones from other states as "outsiders" or "immigrants". We have seen some extreme cases where the people not from Karnataka are expected to understand Kannada. 2. People from outside, working in Bengaluru seem to complain about things beyond the point 1 instances and keep saying "It's just the weather that's good, everything else sucks". Note: 1. Having more people (especially working individuals) in the city has a direct impact on city/state revenues. These working individuals earn, and spend 2. Flexing "Kannada" by locals (especially service providers) is stupidity. They do realise that if the population drops they'll have lesser business (think, autos and cab drivers asking passengers to know Kannada) 3. People flocking in the city for their jobs, the traffic problems are obvious - if you opt for shared transport (metro, buses), we'll find a slightly relaxed traffic. You flex your two and three wheelers, what do you expect? 4. Outsiders or insiders, we have decided and chosen to stay here by trading off certain things to get benefits (mostly pay and growth opportunities), so it's our choice afterall Why do we still keep bashing and targeting each other 🫠 Love 💞 and Peace ✌🏻
