Big 4 pathetic work culture ([RANT])

Working for a Big 4 company has been terrible. They don't care about work-life balance; they treat us like dirt.

They think it's okay to work even when we're sick. I start early and finish late every day, and they say it's normal. If I log off before 7, they act like it's a crime, saying, "Even bosses work late, so why can't you?" They even expect us to work on weekends, like it's no big deal. There's no real teamwork; everything feels controlled. I end up with all the work. The bosses are just as bad; you can't talk to them about your problems. Even if you're struggling mentally, they want you to work 12 hours a day. And getting a day off?

It's like winning the lottery. This job is ruining my mental health. I can't sleep at night worrying about going back to work the next day. They don't care about us; they just want us to work non-stop and forget about our personal lives.

It actually depends on project to project. I have faced similar situations in one of my projects. It really affects mental health. Even if you are not working, you still can't throw the dirts of work out of your mind. Try to change your project and see if things change. But if you find that your whole practice is same, it's better to switch the company.

I recently resigned from Big4 And if I could go back in time, I would just throw away the offer letter instead of accepting it. I have developed migraine issues because of long working hours almost on a daily basis. I was working for 20-22 hours and sometimes even on weekends. I was supposed to leave for my real brother's wedding at 2pm on a Saturday and I started packing my bags at 1PM, till then I was working. And even after working for so many hours, I used to get scolded almost everyday. and the worst time was when I asked for an internal switch. From the very next day, my work pressure increased and the toxicity increased. My counselor shouted at me and asked me to resign. When I refused, she started creating more pressure, she started threatening me that If I speak against her, she will destroy my career. My mental health was getting worse day by day and eventually I decided to put down my papers. When I informed this to my counselor, she said - "Okay, thanks for confirmation."
