Absolutely sad to see the state of the startups, most of them.
I am a founder myself, and this is a post with equal disappointment with myself as much as it is for anyone else who relates.
Look at all these companies that have raised shit tons of capital, and now make a fraction of money that has been invested in them.
The raised money is spent on outsized, non business sense making acquisition costs, only to keep repeating it till the tap runs dry.
Then when all stakeholders get bored, the service quality plummets, the employees are fired and whole sectors are admonished as being bad.

But, my question is, which sector where large sums of money was invested in early days have come out with flying colours. Fucking nothing !
Edtech, proptech, agritech, ecommerce etc. etc. etc. kuch bhi nahi. 

Is there any sector where a startup which has raised in the 100s of millions in the first 5 years have actually built a sustainable business at any scale ?
Then scaling down, isse acha, scale slowly.
The worst part of this whole drama, is pushing the innovation wheel backward and destroying customer sentiment.

Isse acha, raise less money inititally, build slowly, and only scale when the market is ready. Artifical growth makes no sense, unless you have a treasure chest that shall never run out.
Even in that case, spend the money on assets and not on random acquisition costs, direct or indirect.

As founders, let's do better, nahi ?

Hey guys, last year I built an website to match B2B advertisers and publishers. Like Ad-Mob but for bigger brands and platforms.

Mostly think: the ability to seamlessly explore and book ad spaces in popular apps like PhonePe, Paytm, and Swiggy!!!

But I still can’t get big enough clients with deep pockets to buy them. Most brands just directly go to the merchant ad websites so I tried to get informative dashboard to get people use it for market research. Still no growth.

What should I do??? Can anyone help or explain what I am doing wrong!

Looking for referrals for iOS developer opportunities
Have 5+ years of work experience as a Frontend /iOS Engineer. Worked on building apps for global brands like USPA,Arrow, Soch etc in past role.

I'm talking about new startups, as a founder who's trying to build an ecommerce platform currently.

I'm still very early, but it feels that the writing is on the wall. 
Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa, Zomato, Swiggy etc. have all built great products and soon great businesses (I'm sure) 

But it does not make sense to me why we've barely seen anything new in the last 5 years. Even funding wise, if that is something one wants to look at. 

So many people have tried - none of the new ideas have worked. CAC is too high. Current platforms already solve problems. Retention is never there, people may try you out, but will move back to Amazon/Instamart. 

But this is not how things typically work. It's very clear that consumer spending is going to increase, online more so, at an even faster rate. I don't feel the current platforms solve everything, a better version can be built. 

SO, is it the founders of the current era that have failed to make a dent? Is it the fact that VCs have stopped paying attention to this space? Or is it that the current platforms indeed solve everything? 

Would love everybody's thoughts. And also if you have tried building/or have ideas on what potential next eCommerce platforms could loook like.
