C++ Dev with 3 YOE

Hi all, I am at a moment of my career where I don't know which way to go! Please help. My current ctc = 12 lpa fixed And while I am applying for jobs and getting to interview with say offers of 35-40% hike on current so its like 17 lpa roughly. Problem is I am married and living in Bangalore. Also, I am not sure of living/ making a life in India. I have been applying for jobs abroad, mostly Europe. But everyone's rejecting stating that they prefer who's already in their soil, either studying/ trying to switch while already working there. So I am in a dilemma on which pathway to choose. Stay in India play this 2 yr jump cycle or go for a masters in Abroad and start a living there? Also, tech stack is an issue. C++ is totally only confined to Application Development roles, atleast that's all I can see, hardly web development is done in C++. So, I am studying JavaScript and Node.js to learn web developement n all... if that appeals recruiters. So if people can give me some career advice/ direction on: A. Stay in C++, but do a master's from abroad and get a job there and live life. B. Stay in C++, keep jumping and life will be easy, trust in India C. Learn Web development, get a job abroad or in India D. Learn Web development anyway, try getting into masters of foreign universities, and life will be resolved forever. Please help with your insights on the industry and which pathway I should choose.

I am also in C++ My suggestion is Option B Stay in C++ , learn about kernels and device drivers, wait for the JAVA + AWS folk to be replaced by Sam altmans shit-gpt , Profit . This is my plan lol In all seriousness, learn as much as you can . It was the best advice I’ve ever received. I went out of my way to gain experience in both AWS , NodeJS web apps and Kernel side, I believe it will make you a better engineer

Thanks for the suggestion. I truly agree with the line "learn as much as you can" and the part about kernels and drivers, basically go deeper into C++ and while also trying to broaden your knowledge by learning AWS n Node.js?

in india try applying into finance companies - trading companies, HFTs, banks, everyone wants high performance engineers who write c++ and they’re getting paid a lot.

Well I have tried my luck, but the industry itself is very small. Only a few companies are into HFTs and banks like JPMC, GS etc. don't even respond to your application if you're not from IITs or if you don't have previous Banking industry experience. So, basically it's impossible to break into these domains unless you are already working in 1. At least, this is what has been my experience till now..

Thank you for the reply and Yes, that's what I am inclined towards rn and that's why its option A. Only worry is the Fomo I get seeing the web devs..and that will C++ be enough?

Dude you are in C++. many organisations are paying good money for this. Its that your experience is less. Even with 3 years you are getting very good offer. Please forget those 20+ even for 0 experience that happened in covid. They were unrealistic and now market is brutal and you have to justify your costs. My suggestion is to go for the offer.
