largely depends on the opportunity cost, how much is their PPO if you get it? 
  
 if it's more than the package you'd get during placements then it makes sense to get that offer, and then look for off campus opportunities in better firms by leveraging your offer.

if not, then sit for Placements, either way, if you're not liking the work or the firm, you shouldn't work there as you wouldn't be happy if you do, no matter the money.

Hello everyone,
I am a Quant intern at a trading firm and Currently pursuing btech in Computer Science from one of the prestigious IIIT ,24 Batch. My 7th sem is going to start from next month. 

I am developing some algo's for market analysts and I think I am not learning any tech stack from this as these algo's are developed using some basic tool provided by the company. There are very less chances of PPO and even the timings are from 11am to 10pm. So due to these timings I don't get any time to prepare for other companies for oncampus placements.

I am writing this post to ask should I leave the company and prepare for on campus placements or continue working here.
As I can continue my intern during the sem coz there is no attandance criteria in my college.

I'm from the cursed batch , 2024 which is about to end within 2 months , after I'll be at home with no placements in hand , it's all my fault coz I didn't study, I have just 7.02 cgpa and college didn't even shortlist my name , so instead of having a year gap , should I do mtech from local college so that side by side I can grind req skills 
Like there are 2 sides of this 
First one , having a gap (let's say 6 months) and trying hard off campus to crack a company.
Second one , doing mtech from local college, and in that time period trying to get off campus, why off campus, it is obvious local college= no placement
Now gate preparation also req time , and this year gate exam has already been done . So waiting for the next gate exam will be no point .

I’m a upcoming 4th year Integrated msc chemistry(5 year) student from NIT Warangal and I have an exit option after 4th year also, i.e with the bachelors degree and as of now I have decided to go with this. But the major concern for me is that my college won’t be allowing me for the campus placement. 

How and when should I start reaching out for off-campus Product/Analyst roles?

I was thinking of reaching out to campus recruiters from companies that hire from my college and other colleges, Will that work?

I am an engineering student from tier 1 clg, with very low cgpa. My chances of getting those high paying jobs is very low as I don't code and the only options left for me is analyst and pm. 
Please suggest me how should I prepare for off campus placements/ internship as I have no idea that how are they different from on campus placements

Off campus placements

Currently I am in my second year from a Tier 3 college. On campus placements at my college for the 2024 batch is really worse. Few companies are hiring for sales roles etc. and most of them are putting tough eligibility criteria and hiring only few.

To be very honest, I have no hopes from on campus placements. I am going for the off campus route.
What should I do to get a decent intern in third year/fourth year and a decent job by the time of graduation?

Talking about my progress, I am doing DSA, taking part in contests in Codechef, Codeforces, and Leetcode. 
Besides that I have started learning Machine Learning. Have done only the Math part and basics though still now. Been to 2 offline hackathons.

Am currently in a circuital branch of a nit (graduating in 2025) preparing for tech jobs , not one of those brilliant minds , okayish on leetcode trying to cover major dsa topics and important questions.
But everyday I keep hearing about layoffs, AI, recession, cost cutting etc
Should I do something different, should I keep preparing  for tech jobs or I should shift to core jobs or GATE, really confused !!

I am a Tier 3 second year sem4 student in Ahmedabad LJ University 
I am currently having an internship as a python developer like I write code connecting python with aws and azure
Not great work but I get 5k a month

I know MERN stack with some docker and aws knowledge 

Now I am confused as college is bringing internship but they are with 2 year bond! And the stipend offering is 5-10k which will increase every six month
I may get a MERN Stack job there 

Also as the work in current internship is not great I am also thinking if not college i find some other MERN stack internship on my own but I am in super doubt as if what if I can't find one.

What should I do
Leave my current intern for college internship with bond
Leave my current intern and try to find on my own
Continue with this internship only for more 3 months they are offering

Super Confused as a Student in Tier-3 college. Help Needed

Hello everyone, I am an ML Engineer Intern and have been doing full time internship since past 1.5 years, will be completing one year in June at current company, so the thing is I will be graduating in 10 days and the company is still not talking about PPO, so what should I do now? I don't have another offer as I did not sit for on campus placement because no good companies were coming and I am earning more or approximately equal to most of the companies paying for full time in college.

Now I am a bit scared as I will be graduating and still don't have a full time offer, I am the guy in college where everyone used to tell that I will grab the highest package and here I am in this uncertainty whether I will get full time offer from current company or not. I have worked very hard, even worked late nights and even on weekends and still they are bot talking about PPO and I am applying off campus but there are not many openings for freshers or 2024 graduate even though I have more practical knowledge and skills, so what should I do now, continue as an intern till I get full time or what should I do? I know Python,  ML, DL, NLP, tensorflow, pytorch, django, javascript, GO, Docker, linux and I am a very good learner too. So if anyone of you can help then it will be good, I have posted before also on this platform but have not received any help, though got couple of referral but they were of other profile or required  more experience and hence got rejected without even an OA. So please refer me or give advice what should I do next?

I am 24 grad ( btech ) . Joined a company as a intern in 4th year . 9 months they gave training as etl pipeline and sql ( not Interesting but not bad also ). So after internship , I got converted but I then transfered to qa team of a different project. They told That I need to do manual testing for 6 months. I asked the reason , they told that for now they couldn't get approval for a concrete role for me for data engineering. I feel like resigning but I don't have offer . What to do ?

Would want your views on if I should start applying to other companies on the side as a plan B. Also, on-campus placements at my college aren’t looking that good this year in terms of the packages being offered. I am currently in my third year studying computer science and I am confused about what to do next. Here are some quick points about my profile:

- Strong GitHub profile
- Part of Google's summer of code 2023
- Built some interesting projects (tech stack: typescript, postgres, redis)
- I have studied a fair bit of High Level Design (System Design)
- I have a decent leetcode profile (500 questions mostly medium and Hard) (1800 contest rating)
- I also have strong CS fundamentals (DBMS, oop, CN)

I am currently getting interviews from startups but they want 6 month interns and I cannot do such a long internship right now with college. I am only available for a 2 month summer intern (which most startups don't want). I am from a Tier 2 college and we do have some good companies come for placements but I'm not sure about the scenario for next year.

Any tips or advice on what I should focus on? how I should prepare? what kind of companies I should target?

Hi! I just finished my second year at a tier-1 college. I’ve been looking for internships to do this summer, and a startup offered me a backend role of 10k pm stipend that required 8 hours a day commitment. I’d have to travel to their 2-3 times a week to their office that’s 7-8 kms away.

I know a decent amount of web dev, have built a MERN clone of Reddit, and I’m pretty good at algorithms. 

Upon asking one of my mentors about this, he that the guy who’s offering me this role is simply ripping me off. I just wanted a second opinion on this. 

Am I being underpaid?

10k pm stipend for intern

My younger bro is currently in his 3rd yr at NSUT Delhi.   He has been learning front end for a good while. And is now also learning AI/ML.

All his prep went into vain due to poor internship placements. 

He is now very underconfident about interning off campus and wants to directly sit for main placements.

My understanding is that it’s critical to have a good brand internship and a PPO from them preferably. This worked for me as a non-techie so could be a bias.

But if you or anyone you know has been through this journey, kindly suggest what should be the ideal way forward?

Advice for my younger bro

Brief intro about myself- I am a male 3rd year undergrad at IITD, not from a circuital department. Companies such as Amazon, Google, Flipkart and Adobe have already hired students from campus but they filter students via branch i.e. unless you're in CS, Maths or Electrical it's close to impossible to land an internship in SDE. Most top students in CS go for HFT companies but still recruiters prefer low GPA CS students over somebody from say mechanical or chemical. 
I've solved around 200 problems on leetcode/CF and I want to apply to companies by myself off-campus from January.
How should I go about it and what are things I should be doing along with my college academics to increase my chances of landing an internship?!

What is the future scope of the PM job role...will it still be relevant after 10 years, Is going to IIMs spending close to 25 lakhs in this economy to get into a PM job role justified??
Context: I know many people will say you don't need IIM to break into PM, But considering I'm a 25 Male, from tier 3 college...currently working as a product designer with 8 lpa...so I think the only way to reach 25-30 lpa in hand by 28 is by joining IIMs
