Average landlord in 2021: 30k for a 2 bedroom is decent, I’ll charge 120k as deposit

Average landlord in 2023: 60k + maintenance extra. And deposit is now 6L.

What skill is business @user123 😂😂😂

SquishyDonut

Hope your question is honest. So replying accordingly. There are two types of skills: Timely skills and timeless skills. Timely skill is like knowing Python or ML in 2010-15 period when very few knew it. Timeless skills are like soft skills, domain knowledge, core business knowledge. Core business knowledge may involve understanding KRI/KPI to understanding what will happen to the future. If you feel that's not a skill, I can't help

Isn't it for all roles?

SquishyQuokka
SquishyQuokka
Gojek22mo

True, but you won’t find other roles trying to get out of there original roles. A lot of PMs are now trying to get out of PMing.

So there you go.

Offtopic career advice.

I am just starting my career right now, working as an Engineer but I was looking for PM roles in the future, as code does not feel that exciting to me 😅

But with the rise of AI and the risk of jobs getting wiped out, which one is a safer bet?

I guess Engineering will stay longer than PMs?

Or is there any other field you would suggest? Was also thinking to do an MBA after one or two years work ex

Gojek22mo

@Tr0jan Look, Product is here to stay. But like any hot field, it is time that Product orgs will mature and have predictable hiring over the massive boom we saw before.

You should do things basis the intrinsic curiosity you have for the craft.

Also, asking “What to do?” Questions is not the right way to ask an advice. Maybe, Why and How questions are better.

Product Managers: The masters of juggling priorities, herding cats, and turning coffee into code. Remember, you're not just building a product, you're crafting an epic tale that users won't want to put down...unless they see a fidget spinner. 😂🙏🏻

The art of product management is all about mastering the delicate balance between drinking coffee and attending meetings.

Too much coffee, and you'll be bouncing off the walls. Too many meetings, and you'll want to bounce your head off the walls.

Replace PM with Tech Bros and the meme will still work

SquishyQuokka
SquishyQuokka
Gojek22mo

@Iwantfood not really. An average Engineer is more likely to stay in Engineering than an average PM who is likely to bounce from PMing to something else.
