Developer made market worst.
I remember during tech boom, almost every one was jumping jobs every 6months. I am at mid senior level in my company and some of us who did not hopped jobs where consider failure. We had very hard time retaining people around. Now been more than a year and no one is resigning. Wonder will developers learn if another cycle of boom comes in.
Fundamental economics of demand and supply. What’s wrong if someone hopped for a better pay/ wlb?
And most of the freshers should ideally hop after a few years learn about new industries, increase the breadth of the knowledge. What are you trying to prove?

This same fundamental of economics justifies layoffs as well. Not trying to prove anything but it literally used to take millions to just make an mvp. This is not sustainable for entire ecosystem itself .
Nobody pays higher money for a different industry or tech without experience. Breadth is acquired sticking around in the same company and switching teams internally. I am not plucking this out of thin air but talking to ones I know who are fired and have a high pay.

Ours is a slow sustainable business model , provides steady growth. In this boom cycle founder has not fired a single guy, even though business is tight. But I am sure once boom cycle comes in , people are again going for same stupidity.
If you could guys survive during market max hype,
Then excel when market is busted, others are also low that time.
It's win-win for all.
History has shown that a boom once bust never repeats in the same industry or sector for years or decades. People can dream about the good times of 2021-22 coming back. Over a long enough timeline, skills matter. And with skills, exponential money can be acquired with time.
My juniors called me non - ambitious since I told them jumping jobs in the same tech for money will make u hit a ceiling and make u unhirable. Well, I have received multiple calls for a referral in the last 3 months. Few of them, I genuinely want to help but others with superiority attitude I have shown my middle finger. If anything I have reached out to multiple hiring managers asking if someone matches profile of my juniors, I will review the resume and provide feedback to proceed with the interview or not.
I hope u realize loyalty won’t get u anywhere in any market. Unless industry rewards those who stay more than laterals, nothing will change and that’s on industry incentivising it
