Director fired at Unacademy for taking planned Leave
One of the director in Business team was fired by COO Vivek Sinha just because she took planned leaves and approved planned leaves of her team members. COO fired her over phone call . Unacademy used to such a great place up until February 2022 now it has become place filled with toxicity and CEO Gaurav seems to unaware of what's happening around him and is busy boasting how much money Unacademy has in bank. Don't join Unacademy if you want to life outside work .

This is really bad. Ex-Unacademy here and I left 2 years back. There were problems but it wasn’t this bad. Gaurav was extremely good to me but that doesn’t make up for the way he is influenced by the inner circle.
I have worked with Vivek too, and he was quite visionary at that point. I guess the pressure of numbers and profits break not only people but also culture.

He was 🥲🥲 Had good ideas to solve a lot of challenges.
Unacademy/ Edtech has always been the most toxic place to work!!
One of my friend was working there and his father was in critical condition, the work pressure was too much..i have seen him literally crying somehow this whole episode affected his mental health, ultimately he left the company!!

At this point unless you don't know where the next roti is coming - abandon ship on EdTech en masse. No other way to get this shithole industry back to where it belongs - the gutter of the past.

EdTech has become shit due to these Clown Suite Execs who have no idea how to run a business or understand the market. They just like to brag about blowing VC money on things they never deserve to have and never had.
Unfortunately as the saying goes a fool and his money are soon parted.
So these ego maniacs who TBH I have no clue even made it here except by kissing ass have a lot of money and power and now in order to show profitability and growth to their masters they put next to suicidal pressures on the employees working there who earn next to peanuts.

Thankfully I’m not in edtech, but if I was…I’d quit now. Everything that sinking ship touches will sink with it. No one junior-mid will survive the massive corrections incoming imo.
