Do all product companies treat designers like they don’t do much?
My company acts like developers are the sole reason the app ui exists. I’m not trying to diss them, it’s a team effort, everyone is involved. But when features go live it feels like nobody gives a shit. If it does well, devs get commended. Design is never given any recognition. It feels like no matter how much we do, we’re never contributing enough to be considered impactful even if numbers are going up. Is this the case everywhere?

Mostly designers and frontend devs dont get the recognition like the backend folks. Have seen this in my company.

Yeah this is true iam a designer and I have to teach myself code and front-end integration to get respected in my company, now I design and I code , and my Manger changed my job title to U/Ux engineer.
Still unless u get into good b2c company it's same every.
I have 1.5 years of experience , I get paid same as developers, my Manger wrote beyond expectations in my appraisal.
I do freelancing too and I make in total more money that developers too . Actually I make more money than all junior developers in my team. 20 k more
We don't have pure designers who can't code, FE tech and CS all collaborate for UI
