Do the startups lack in hiring efficient Sales and Marketing team?
Why is it that startups only get to hire the Sales and Marketing team with a limited budget of their VC or PE funding and why do they consider the Sales department not important.
Do you think a service or product based startup can start getting revenue and customers without a proper sales and marketing team?
And on what basis do Startups qualify selecting a sales and marketing team. Since I have seen and interacted with a few of the funded startups sales team and I feel they are below standards and just bothered to reach their targets set by the company.
Would you like to have an organization where you can find a set of talented and well coordinated team you choose and build a sales team like a drag and drop and they work for you. With a profile of the person visible to you. Would you like to have a service offering like that.
Seeking opinions from founders of the startups of any stage like self- funded or bootstrap or VC or PE rounds ...
Pretty sure the companies will do a hard negotiation and marketers don't get paid what they deserve here as well, plus the vendor commission/margins this business has to make.
Tech/Product is probably the only place where companies are not gonna negotiate in terms of pay. When money doesn't flow in comfortably blame Sales & Marketing.
This trend has to change.
Are you suggesting Sales and Marketing as a service?
Yes
Marketing as a Service in the form of agencies exists, right?
Unless what you are proposing is different.
Sales as a Service exist too, Credit Card companies use it abundantly. Not sure of other industries though.
But yeah, if you choose a profitable industry where this problem exists, a sizeable business may be made.
We had a pathetic time selling our product kept building without much sales. Because we never spent time on it. Its a real issue in startups
I would like to have a total different model of payment for this which would suit a startup keeping a check on they actual revenue generation and for companies a quarterly plan and for enterprises MNCs a yearly plan with dashboard giving them a real time data of the revenue verse spend
Let me know your thoughts and if any founders would be happy to take their opinion
