Do you think 5-7 or 10 years down the line will struggle due to lack of opportunities

Is software industry oversaturated? Do you feel companies will discriminate with us once we hit 40+ age as more and more people are coming into it? I can see class 6 th and 7 th std kids are doing coding just like we had fad for jee classes. If there is oversupply of enggs. companies, whatever the fate mech and civil branches suffered, cs will bear the same. Should one go for mba( off course from top colleges) ?

General question to all the folks who are in IT industry for more than 10 years. What do you think your career path in IT will be after the age of 50 years considering AI and Automation. Also as we move up the ladder the number of roles decreases significantly. For more experienced people switching different companies also becomes quite difficult. What is your backup plan for this?

I am curious to understand how the future looks like. For now, I think we have a clear aim. Most might not want to startup as they are well satisfied with solving other's problems. But come to think of it, I have not seen much ppl above 50 years of age in the IT industry. With 90's and 80's generation slowly inching towards that phase, how do you guys think it will shape up? straight question : do we have a chance?

Guys with 15+ years of experience working as developer, do we really have a future with companies looking to replace you with younger generation. One layoff and I know it will really hard task to find a new job. I have already started thinking of alternative path. What are you thinking.

Currently I am in college 3rd year(EEE). Since there aren't really many jobs in EEE. I decided to pursue my carrier in software. So far I have learned full stack development and built some small websites to. Since the internship season is coming I have applied for a lot of postions on various websites but not really getting any replies. So my question is should i continue grinding the full stack devlopment even though competition is at all time high(saw 2000+ applications for 1 intern postion 🤡) and fear of AI(DEVIN) Study AI/Ml since it's the trending topic. But there aren't many postions jn india Learn web3(solana +rust). Many people are telling there is no future in it. But I saw some of my frnds printing money in this tech So senior software enginnering please 🙏 help your fellow junior

My fellow engineers this chatgpt may not replace but it will surely reduce no of Software engineer. A project deadline was missed and project manager called team(10people) and infront of them he completed the project not alone but taking help of chatgpt and 4 of 10. "So u see 6 can be replaced anyday" he told . Your bro being intern was just mute spectator but inside fati to mere bhi thi. So guys use chatgpt otherwise someone will replace u by using chatgpt

Planning out finances, hence this question. Also, we are the first generation (in most families) to retire from this sector. What is the age of the most senior employee you know in software. Hardly only 10% make it to the board/senior levels. How about the rest? And can we really take on this kind of stress and work after our 40s and compete with the younger generation?

Do you think you will still be doing deep technical work in your team after you turn 40 year old ? Have you ever seen a 40 year old coder ? Do you think you can become a manager and mange a team after you turn 35 ? Do you possess managerial skill ? Currently lots of layoffs are happening around you. Your job can be replaced by A.I in future. If you get laid off, do you have any other skills to make it as a source of income ? Will you encourage your child to get into IT industry (software engineering) or some other field where A.I interference is not accepted ?
