Most of the requirements i see for entry level roles are in between 3-5 years of experience. 
I’m actively looking for some roles in security engineering but only got 1+ year of exp and it’s been extremely hard to get any interviews. 
Any suggestions on how should I approach to land a role in this.

Currently I am facing a dilemma whether to pursue msc in cybersecurity from UK or not , a lot of inputs are further confusing me , currently have 2 years of experience and have done BCA. Will it be beneficial for me to take up the course . Also will any organisation recognise it or not if done on a sabbatical leave. If anyone working from UK could guide if it is worth it ? Completed 3 years at Cisco this month as a Hardware Engineer, joined straight out of a tier-2 college in 2021.

Over my 3 years, what I've learnt is that Cisco is just riding on the monopoly it has in the networking space. There's basically no innovation when it comes to Router hardware, and we basically reuse existing designs, packaging them as "newer and better" products. No risk, no Ishq 🙁

There's absolutely zero investment in R&D, and any new feature that gets added to the products only comes in after one of the competitors launches them, keeping Cisco behind in the game.

If Cisco keeps going like this, I'm sure the likes of Arista and Juniper will over us in the next couple of years, even with the new "Silicon One" that Cisco's promoting. 

PS: I can only speak from a Hardware PoV, and I'm not quite updated with what's going on with Cisco's SW offerings.

Hi, 
I have 5 YoE and I am currently working at a small company doing backend and infrastructure development. My current comp is 60L pre tax. I am looking for a change and I have an offer from zscaler.

The offer is for 38L pretax+10L stocks every year. The compensation is low but work will be interesting for me. Should I join them? 

The one huge downside is 90d notice period they have. I am inclined to join but deathly worried about 90d notice period.


An alternative is, I keep practicing leetcode, apply to bigger companies in the next 6-12 months and join them instead of zscaler.

Here’s a brief intro about me: I’ve worked as both software engineering manager & software technical architect over the last 18+ years on various tech stacks managing backend, frontend and a little bit of cloud. I have seen ups and downs in the software industry. Currently I’m working as a senior architect in one of the product based companies in India.

I’ve been an Engineering Manager before. Ask me anything.

Currently I am in my second year from a Tier 3 college. On campus placements at my college for the 2024 batch is really worse. Few companies are hiring for sales roles etc. and most of them are putting tough eligibility criteria and hiring only few.

To be very honest, I have no hopes from on campus placements. I am going for the off campus route.
What should I do to get a decent intern in third year/fourth year and a decent job by the time of graduation?

Talking about my progress, I am doing DSA, taking part in contests in Codechef, Codeforces, and Leetcode. 
Besides that I have started learning Machine Learning. Have done only the Math part and basics though still now. Been to 2 offline hackathons.

I'm in a cyber security degree, I've asked my seniors and came to know that the college won't teach me anything related to it. Nothing that I didn't expect. 
So Here's my routine, I'm learning Web-development, Just started bug bounty a little, thinking about starting flutter. I wish I could keep learning this everyday but the works from college and since I'm a day scholar, I get very little time for my own adventures.

Somewhere deep within, I can sense the urge to dropout. I can surely learn by myself and learn better and faster than what they teach in college. 

I also want to move abroad, India isn't for me.

By your experience, what do you think I should be doing differently?

Advice Needed for a Sophomore

I want road map regarding cloud computing which field is best which certificate I want

My question, as a college student, which is a better thing to do?
1. Keep learning new tech stack and build different projects.
Or
2. Try to contribute to some organization through open source  and learn through contribution itself (assuming i have some basic knowledge) + increase my network of connections (if possible). 

My primary goal right now is getting decent on campus placement as of now but i have plans to try oss contribution in future even if i am unable to do rn. My 2nd year will end in a few days btw.

Note that i can't do both simultaneously as my college is very hectic (tier 3) but it has some okayish placement.
