Does Hinge works for men?

I am writing this post to understand the pros and cons of different dating apps from the customer side point of view.

I have been using the prominent dating apps since quite some time, they work well initially but slowly the experience feels like a drag. It’s just a bunch of connections you talk to and it mostly ends up being a dead conversation. I realised when you engage with users who are genuinely looking to date it’s much easier to meet up since everyone is aligned. My hypothesis is that adding more friction on onboarding (not blindly adding this ofcourse) could weed out the users with low intent and leave you with a high quality user base. What do you guys think is the problem with dating apps in general? P.S: this is a random 5am thought and I had to post it since I can’t stop thinking about it and wanted to hear other, and probably smarter, people out haha 🙌

Matched with a female VC, got this long ass message from her - "Hey, This is a copy pasted templatized message 😛 Owing to the awfully high number of requests I receive on Hinge(and I'm told most females do- I'm not all that special), I’ve had to resort to this unique way of filtering. So, let's start with exchanging LinkedIn and IG profiles and proceed to a more usual/chilled out flow of things from there? I'm thinking of getting a premium for Bumble, currently I'm satisfied with the free offers, I'm not an avid user of sorts. I wanted to know if there's any massive leverage of having a premium. I'm a guy looking for a girl.

I'm at that age where is tremendous pressure to get married. Can't even put in words the kind of torture I go through every day. I'm a woman. I have met people mostly through AM set up. I didn't click with anyone. I don't have faith that I'll be anyone compatible through AM route. Tried dating app, quickly realised it's not for me, the compatibility is even worse there. I go to events and such, didn't really meet anyone. Idk if it's just the Kannada culture, everyone is just so shy! I enjoy being by myself but would prefer being with a partner. I realise the importance of having a companion. At the same time, I also don't want to just get married to someone for the sake of it. So Bengalurians, especially Kannadigas, where did you meet your partner/SO/spouse? What is something I should be doing that I'm not doing? On the work front, I'm doing quite well. Looks wise too, I don't think I'm ugly.

Hello! I am 26y old currently living in Bengaluru, working in startups, fair compensation. I am looking to find a partner for the intention of marrying in around or less than 2 years of time. Have used Bumble and Hinge a lot, went to like 30+ dates in past 2 years, dated few girls but nothing serious came out of it - I think it’s the platform’s problem (anyways, there can be a separate debate for this) There are old platforms like Shaadi.com, jeevansathi and new platform like betterhalf. I am not very sure on how to go about it? Can anyone guide me on this???
