Does anyone else feel scared to commit to a career path due to being potentially replaced by AI?
"For a while now I've struggled with choosing a career path, it is very hard for me to stick to one specific thing for long periods of time unless I have a serious interest in it. That being said I am turning 20 in a week and I have been trying to create a plan for myself that I can truly commit to so I can have success in life, but I cant help but worry if AI will take away potential job opportunities in the future. I don't want to commit to a specific skillset just for it to be replaced. The only type of jobs that I don't see being replaced are salespeople and blue collar jobs. Does anyone else feel like this? I'm not sure what to do at this point."

The fear of AI is exaggerated. I work in Finance. everything is automated. Any person even without basic knowledge in finance can work here. Balance sheet and p&L are avl at download. Every process from salary to vendors payments are automated. Internal controls are system controlled. The manual interaction is limited to paper work.
There are off shelf software products available for every complex tax laws. A finance department of a company can thrive with 1 CA to head the function. Still, companies hire CA for a job that can be done by a 12th class.
If we hire based on real job requirement, our country wont need these many Engineers/MBA. Managers/leaders hire to brush up thier resume, its part of the company's PR and Image branding.
So whether AI is successful or not, Any job loss in one category will be replaced with hiring under another category.

No. AI is hyped. It'll be a great assistant. But it will never take over humans
