Down bad manager ! Glory hunter.
So During our scum calls with client my manager gives update for whole team himself and doesnt let us update on the task which we have worked on ourself . Mf just grabs all the glory in pursuit for good feedback from client side meanwhile he does nothing technical and during internal meeting he says you guys should speak more with client and ALSO he ask for everyone's update on task before scrum and then pokes why is it not done even on task whose estimated completion date/time is far away. So annoying and frustating . Just a rant from your average software dev . Do give any solution you might have . 🙂 Thanks for reading.

Your complaint is unreasonable. This is a basic requirement of a manager. As a salaried employee your job is to deliver what is asked for. Not claim the credit. If something goes wrong and if he blames you will you quietly agree, if that is not your mistake?.
I hope you are not a person with less than 2 years of exp.
🙃 first thing first year end appraisal depends on client feedback which is inturn dependent on amount of work we did so yes claim the credit is important in my case . I know what you are saying that its a basic job of manager but i think its only to give major updates not minor updates which can be given by others .
2nd many things have gone wrong many times and guess who he blames at that time ? Us . Why? coz the features are assigned and commited by us devs .so he goes back to PR history and starts blaming us . And when its vice versa situtation and everything is good thats his work xD .
Also i have more than 2 yoe and have worked under different managers aswell so i know how good managers are and how smoothly they work unlike this lassan .

Although convention dictates that this is normal but any good manager lets the team take credit for all the good work and takes all the heat for any trouble.
Essentially, you let your win consistency outshine your losses. Usually insecure managers engage in such behaviours

That's where problem starts. If you not allowing people under you to learn, to make mistakes, to learn from those mistakes you're simply blocking their growth and yours too. Give them their freedom, make them own their mistakes and give them their credit

The conversation is going tangent. The complaint here was the manger doesn't do anything and take all credit. As a manger his task is to keep track of the work in progress and remove bottlenecks and facilitate you to complete the work assigned to you. So yes, he will ask you about why things are not done. if the task is for a later date and he asks on that then he/she is a fool.
During client calls it is always better to have lesser number of people give updates, Especially when the project has delays or overruns or any other exigencies. Having multiple people talk during such calls might result is possible unnecessary escalations. How many is ideal? that is decided based on the time/place and the pressure/expectations on the manager (which the team members dont know)
Please don't forget that the manger also has a boss. he answers to someone too. he gets shouted by someone as well. There are many things that happen behind doors in meeting that team members are not invited. So If any tech bro think they can write a code and they are awesome and world needs to bow before them. Time a reality check. World exists beyond your cubicle and its not rainbows and unicorns.
No matter how hard you work how awesome you are, you are not going to to be made CEO in 5 years. There are 100's of people who are as good if not better waiting in line for the same growth.
