Early Retirement

Hey everyone, I'm curious about retirement planning and would love to hear from others about their retirement goals. What retirement corpus are you looking at? What is your current financial status and expected retirement age? I'm particularly interested in hearing from those who have already started planning for retirement or have already retired. Any tips or advice on retirement planning would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

You can use the following format Goal/current status/retirement age/current age

My goal : 10cr/2cr/40/30

10 cr equivalent after inflation adjustment

Start investing early is the mantra people follow to live peacefully after retirement .. I personally started investing at a very young age mostly into Mutual Funds and some government schemes. Start investing early on in your life with discipline and see the magic of compounding. Reach out to me personally for more tips

Nice. How long you have been investing and whats the IRR you were able to achieve? Also, what percentage of your salary do you keep aside for investment

It's been close to 10 years since I started investing independently. Because of my risk profile I consider a target of min 20% IRR which I am able to achieve easily. The thumb rule for investing monthly should be 20% (min) of your salary but if you want a larger amount by the time you retire and have less liabilities you can invest up to 40% of your salary monthly.

2cr...

Put those money at 10-12% and easily live a good life at any metro...

If you live in a village then it's even better, 2lac/month is.more than enough there plus clean water, organic food , veggies and air. You will extend your age by 10 to 20y atleast.

But see, i don't see myself retiring like watching web series and snacking like George jr in Young Sheldon...

Infact, once you get time u bought by money accumulated, spend that time on things which u wanted to do in your college, school or talked to friends, family...More practical one, whenever u r pissed of your boss and go to a travel tour backpacking...u could have dreamt of something, so do that for Life time...

It should be purposeful and alligned to betterment of society at core.

Like i will do

  1. Writing on sustainability and climate change
  2. Organic farming
  3. Create a digital platform for agriculture produces...like in Punjab potato is 2rs/kg and 30/kg at blr...solve these problems
  4. Help General category or ews people (personal reasons)
  5. Part time politics for social good
  6. Spend more time with family and friends
  7. Travel more
  8. Minimalist lifestyle
  9. Explore spiritual world and convergence with science (Carl sagen impact)
  10. When I die...My soul get remembered for good reasons and not just paying my bills for few people

Period.

Retirement doesn't means not working. It means we won't work for money
