Everybody in my office is talented
And I feel I am a dumb guy. The main thing is they have been very well educated, they have a ton of experience, every tiny detail about these people who I work with is so extraordinary and I feel like I am a dumb guy who is not even good with writing an email. Its not that I am not trying to learn, I am trying to extract as much knowledge from them but still it feels like I will never ever be as good as them.

That means you have room to grow, learn. You are not dumb. You are just more lucky than most of the people here.
Ur lucky, That's what I got to say, If you feel everyone is smarter than you in ur vicinity, then you have scope of growth in their presence

You are lucky, I have people with more than 10 years experience than me and are absolutely worthless, I am the top performer in my team and get very good hikes but I want to switch asap as my growth would be limited here
This is a common case of imposter syndrome. Perhaps this thread will help -> https://www.reddit.com/r/cscareerquestions/comments/6htopw/deleted_by_user/dj1bnda?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

Hi OP. Learnt this quite late in life. But wherever you go, you will always find ppl who are more talented and less talented than you. There's nothing to gain my comparing ourselves constantly. The only thing that matters is, are you being a better version of yourself, as compared to 6 months back? Just focus on your own personal growth. And nothing better than being surrounded by smarter folks. I would think of it as a blessing in disguise. Figure out a couple of them whom you can look up to. Start spending more time with them. See if you can form a genuine friendship with them. Learn from them as to how they think, approach situations.
Wow this is a great advice thank you so much ! Will try to make the most out of it.
I think you are in the right place, you can learn from everyone,I always try to get into a company where everyone is pro.
Bro, if you are working at Google, then you are also talented as every other guy in your team.
Thank you for your kind words, I don't want to sound arrogant or anything but these folks are genuinely smart and well educated folks thats what humbles me down and makes me evaluate saying are you learning something or no?
You got it Brother keep pushing.
Fake it to make it. If you are not working with people who make you be better then you are doing it wrong.
The perfect place to be.
If you’re more smart than everyone in the room you’re in the wrong room.
This is something that most of us have faced at some point in their career so Take this as an opportunity to learn and update yourself and this might be a blessing in disguise

I defeated this imposter syndrome earlier life with the counter argument/ antithesis with the thought that if these very super smart folks believing in me, talking to me, working for and with me... Then the whole thesis stands falsified.
You're always smarter than what you think you are.
You’re in the right place. I’ve been through the same and it’s very common.
These thoughts will push you subconsciously, and that’s what helped me as well. But remember, Don’t try to push yourself too much. I did that mistake :)
Also, It’s not at all about knowing stuff. Its about having the “achha. I’ll figure it out” attitude

I feel you
The more you work the more you realise that the people around you aren't actually that smart. They're also just winging it most of the times. Everyone pretends to know more than they actually do

I love this quote ... Being smartest is not in my hands , but working hardest is !!
The first place I worked, I had the same feeling. Trust me, that's better that having dumb people all around. You would learn a lot. Be humble, concentrate and put effort.

From my experience trust me , it’s better to be in a place where you are at the bottom because then you can climb your way to the top. Like they say if you are the smartest in the room then you are in the wrong room .
