Everybody in my office is talented

Do you have colleagues in your organisation( big brand) who are below average & you still think how are they still working? I mean people doing ctrlx + ctrlv, basic excel but earning in lakhs?

I wanted to understand how the engineering culture at CRED is. How is the work-life balance? Do you approve of the CEO?

Since early childhood all I talked, watched and read was Technology. When I got home from school, I worked on C++ and built games by modelling physics, collisions etc. I frequented a ton of online forums for WebGL and other archaic tech that most of you don't even know about. I knew all about the Silicon Valley, the stories and legends. I learned all about the history of technology and used to work deeply with my father with transistors, ECU/ECMs etc during weekends. I thought I knew it all. I thought I was the deal. I remember schooling folks about all of this, making them realise they are dumb as hell. I remember when I stepped into my MS in CS program and attended a club meeting, I realized that I was just like everybody else. They were all the same as me in hindsight. They knew the same things and lived and breathed the same passion. I knew I wasn't special. For the first time, I suffered ego-death. I thought I was special, and I was not. This is just a reminder, that you are not special. You are less unique than you think you are. So lose that attitude.

I have tried developing strategies, brainstorming solutions, worried to core leading to breakdowns While collegeaues from IIT/IIM earning double, don't know basic shit I have understood there's no point putting that extra effort. How do I act dumb on purpose? I'm not someone who can stretch work, result and speed are inherent and this is why need advice here. I work at a startup which has 100M revenue with small engineering team based in US Canada and some in India. I am earning good here given my YoE. Then comes this big tech working on monoliths and old design patterns with such high salary that I can't imagine at my age and YoE. I think that's how Google/Amazon poached all hard working and hungry engineers and made them a dumb Devs. I think that's how they killed creativity. 1. You are building a software that otherwise could be built by a 12 year old kid, if given proper training. 2. You cannot code if I cut off google, stackoverflow & related websites. 3. You are just concerned about producing the output quickly because a. your work is time bound, b. you want to stand out from others. 4. You attend countless meetings that carry no value, thanks to Agile. 5. 10 people write code for the same software which otherwise could have been written by 1 person. 6. You write pages of documents just because you are expected to write for the team, compliance & stuff. 7. You don’t care about non-functional requirements as nobody asked for it. 8. You are spending hours together in coding a simple thing & you are branded a hard-worker. 9. Or you don’t spend much time in coding because you impress people with tech jargons that you learnt recently. You are branded a smart-worker. 10. The code you write will be completely rewritten in next 3-4 years just to catch up with the industry trends. 11. Your only goal is to earn loads of money which otherwise could not be earned in other engineering fields. That’s one of the reasons why you are on grapevine. Prove me wrong if you can, by commenting your opinion.

They have no life They have nowhere to go They have no one to be with They have no passions outside work either And they make your life hell as they become the baseline for comparison for all sorts of management from appraisal to work distribution. Feel free to disagree with me, but I’m genuinely pissed today. How do you deal with them? I have a decent life outside work but lose most of it while trying to catchup to such people so that I don’t get fired. Sorry for the title.

I love being in VC, I am great at networking and have nice communicational skills. It’s been an year for me in VC, but I still find it really hard to grasp business models. I feel really inferior to all other analysts. What should I do to be able to evaluate businesses more efficiently?
