Fellow advanture enthusasts of GV, how do you balance tourist attractions with off-the-beaten-path experiences during your travels?

Hey guys I’ve never travelled solo in my entire life. Where and How should I start? There are few questions I’ve like: 1. How to handle accommodations? 2. Concern about the safety and security. 3. How to decide which places to visit. I mean can’t roam around uselessly, must have a list of places to visit. 4. Whom to believe, in the sense that, a lot of people are ready scam you when they find you are new here, how to handle that. If you travel solo very often, then suggest some pointers to keep in mind. So I have been looking for remote opportunities so that I can invest more (No rent), focus on health (less travel time more gym time), and travel (planning 2 international trips this year). For folks working remotely, please share your advice on how I can achieve this and if you guys have any suggestions for any of these topics, I am open for conversation. Thanks.

Been thinking about going for an international trip lately. Asked a bunch of friends, but it looks like it's just gonna be me. Anyone here who has travelled solo? Thoughts on those "Make My Trip" packages? Or any other cool recommendations?

The number of times I've heard people say shit like 'traveling makes you grow as a person'. Someone please specify what this growth looks like because I've never experienced it. I don't think traveling is life-changing. I think most people have a romanticized, cinema-like idea of traveling that has been exaggerated even more because of social media. It definitely is fun to go on a vacation. But in most cases, that's all it is -- a source of entertainment. Maybe an ice-breaker the next time you go to some pretentious party. Am I missing something?

I prefer hostels and trains 🚂 Spend the savings on adventures and extra curricular stuffs + food Helps staying fit and fine mentally also :)
