I’m looking for a 1/2BHK in a society near HSR. The ones around Sarjapur Road and HSR are super expensive, while ones towards Electronic City are comparatively cheaper. Do you prefer paying a higher rent to compromise on travel time, or compromise on travel and stay in a better flat at the same price.
What are the rents? Can you please share the number? Even my friend is looking out for flats.
Upto 30k for 1 BHK in a society. 40k for a 2BHK.
That's too high
You can live cheaper on the boundaries of HSR (still in HSR) in independent houses for rent below 18k for 1 BHK (I know friends living there), and not compromise on travel time. Like they live 5min walk from BDA complex, third wave cafe etc.
Way to househunt is to get many agent contacts in HSR, talk to them about requirements and agree to a visit drive with them. There are too many brokers and each have very few leads, so need patience and persistence trying one broker after the other. It's not breeze as house hunting with a broker in NCR.
Only caveat is lack of easy parking, or not as convenient if you have a family with kids.

Where exactly any landmark?
While flats near Sarajpur and HSR are expensive, they do offer better communication than the one in Electronic City. The flats in this region also offer a high quality of life and great facilities. The price may seem expensive, but if you stay on rent or share it with someone the cost will split and you can dedicate your expenses to other aspects. Flats in Sarajpur and HSR layout also offer connectivity to IT Hubs like Whitefield, Electronic City and other places. If your office is in Electronic City, you can look for a flat there to save on travel costs. However, you may not be equipped with the best-in-class amenities that Sarajapur and HSR offer. Yes, there is no doubt that flats in Electronic City are cheaper, but maintaining such a flat can be a problem, especially if you’re constantly hustling in your life.
At the end of the day, it is your choice what you want to do. Do you want to spend more money on a flat and reap the facilities or do you want to live in a cheap apartment and pay more travel expenses since the travel cost in Bangalore is also high? Whatever you decide on doing, make sure you have done proper research and estimates on flats and travel expenses.
