Folks @ Swiggy/Zomato
How are you all feeling about ONDC, what's the general atmosphere like and did you guys have prior notice that this was an incoming event.

(Not new) but I worked on ONDC integration for a Swiggy vertical. Was a mess. The ‘stack’ itself is poorly thought out, doesn’t take logistics into account, underestimates how entitled customers are. It’s a good process and I really hope it helps MSMEs but it’s not even close to denting the duopoly.

Convenience comes at a cost. As long as people aren't ready to let go off convenience, nothing might happen to Swiggy or Zomato.
Also, ONDC is not that new 💁🏻♂️

I think I'm asking specifically about employee's opinions. Plus people in India majorly don't wanna pay for convenience. That's a bigger chunk of the business than the one paying a platform fee.

Will likely require swiggy/zomato to figure out more efficiencies, but anyone who is working on restaurant delivering via ONDC, still needs to figure out managing customer support, align contractors, their trainings, delivery quality and ownerships, branding Etc. So much goes into a vast delivery setup like swiggy or zomato, that a LOT of work will still go into making a credible threat to them. Doing what swiggy or zomato does, at the same scale will have so many challenges, that merely using ONDC stack doesn’t even come close to becoming a threat.

The Ken did a wonderful piece comparing Namma Yatri with Uber/Ola. Echoes what @spidey, @Dhoni, and @deliveryboy have said in the posts above. I'll link the article below.

Uber and Ola are really bad experiences at least in Bangalore. Zomato and Swiggy are crazy good experiences (grocery and food)
