For Getting the first opportunity

I am a 2024 batch student who is graduating within a month , I am preparing for product management roles for entry level , something revolving around it will also be okay as long as it's fulfilling my long term career goals , I need to learn some technical skills which I will pretty much able to do in 2 months ranging from SQL , and analytics tools but the thing is I am from tier 3 college and don't want to have a career gap but also not getting the right opportunity . It's my humble request to all the product managers to please guide me that how can I get my first opportunity in next 2-3 months

Background: i was a developer for 4 years and a product/project manager for a year on a contract basis.

I've made enough posts on here and reddit about not getting PM opportunities in this market. I'm seriously considering going back to tech, then trying to switch internally.

My advice:

  1. Keep up with what you're learning .
  2. Target business analyst, data analyst, product analyst. You'll have a very high probability of getting into these right now.
  3. Learn learn learn on the job. That's the real experience you'll get.
  4. Stay there for 2+ years, then you're next switch will be a product manager role.

If you're thinking you can easily do it because you did some 8 weeks bootcamp and saw some guy on YouTube getting the job, it's all delusion my friend. Trust me. You have to build something (early career), then you can go for whom to build and why(pm).

Get the above mentioned roles, you'll be working under PMs. After getting experience, switch internally.

Feel free to DM, cheers
