Great to see Delhi NCR people fighting the forced narratives of North vs South

People have this weird notion that Delhi/Gurgaon isn't safe and that the folks here are as warm as an ice cube in Antarctica. Can you believe that? And guess what? I'm not the only one in this comedy club. Hundreds of people have taken to Twitter to share their own hilarious stories. Now, let's switch gears and talk about Gurgaon. It's got the smooth roads, a fast track to the airport, and apartments where you don't need to sacrifice your life savings as a deposit. It's the practical choice for newcomers. So, in a nutshell, let's keep challenging these stereotypes and celebrate the positives of each city. Kaun se bubble me ho student? Golf course road pe rehte ho aur kaam karte ho / college jaate ho? Reminds me of Vir Das. I live in 2 Gurgaons. One which has smooth roads, and other where people can’t even walk. And yes - people here are arrogant, with zero civic sense - though that’s true for most cities in India, but def worse than Mumbai (stayed there for 10 years, hence can see the difference clearly). Let’s not even talk about the air quality, extreme heat and cold (subjective, I know). Traffic post pandemic is not smooth either. In fact people drive extremely bad, and carry a lot of ego while on the road. Couple of good things: 1. Proximity to airport 2. Size of houses PS : staying here for the past 4 years.

Things like weather we can't control. People expect govt. to give some basic necessities for paying taxes like roads that even good cities like Mumbai are missing. In Gurgaon 22 kms a fully elevated road on Sohna Road was completed in 2-3 years, don't ask about under passes/flyovers that they keep contructing with the speed of light. Sorry but haven't seen that speed of work and improvement anywhere. I used to live in Koramangala in Bengaluru and they kept 80ft road blocked for traffic for 3 years just to push sever line. Or just search Ejipura stone hedge. They have no empathy for normal people. We all know, we are the average of five people around us. Gurgaon has so many ambitious people who are doing amazing things, it's hard to be not feel motivated by this. Every time something happens like heavy rains, I see police and municipal corporation on roads fixing the issue and making new infra.

That’s acceptance of mediocrity. Koramangala road was blocked for 3 years hence Gurgaon is the deal is not the right thought process IMO. My office access road has been under construction for years now. Every time it rains, it’s literally a dirty river. And people have to walk through that. And same is true of a lot of most localities in Gurgaon. So long as you’re not staying in DLF areas.

Log ladte toh aise hai jaise inke baap, dada ka hai gudgawa ya bengaluru! First of all, you(majority) don’t have choice! You move to these cities just because you “found” a job in these cities. Majority would not like to live in any of these life sucking, insanely expensive gudgawa, bengaluru or mumbai, given a choice. We saw a similar shift during covid/wfh era. Thoda chill maaro, learn survival, wherever you are! P.S. - My permanent address in one of these cities and currently residing in other, lived a good part of life in third one. No major changes observed, you have to adapt and move on.

A hypocrite one side saying let's promote positives of 1 city & then takes a lame try at mudslinging another city. You are just another trash. I stayed in Gurgaon for just a month. But I never felt it unsafe. Though everyone I knew warned me too much. Loved the infra too. It's just very sad and unfortunate that city is suffering from pollution. And civilization too was good, felt Bangalore civilization is slightly better but everyone should start learning the heart of Mumbai. But it was not something that I would complain about in Gurgaon/Delhi. It's a beautiful city. Just like bangalore. Problems are because of people, u nd me. Crib about that sure that's the right thing to change, taking potshots at other cities is simply 3rd class

This means that Gurgaon had a higher crime rate than Bangalore by about 69.5%. The crime rate per 100,000 population in Delhi was 377.3 in 2021, according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data. This means that Delhi had a lower crime rate than the national average of 383.5 in the same year. However, Delhi also had the highest rate of crimes against women among the Union territories, with 14,277 cases reported in 2021. The number of cases surged over the past three years from 13,395 in 2019 to 14,277 in 2021. Delhi accounted for 25.7% of the total crimes against women in the country in 2021.

People won't believe anything after they've made up their minds, folks have presumed they'll be raped at 11.01pm on ggn streets, if that were to be true sector 29 won't get crowd after midnight. Just like present govt has done so much to clean UP's image, over time gurgaon's image will also be cleaned, it's not in our powers to make beliefs for others.
