Guidance-Switch from a self employed contract work to full time SWE.

The title says it all.

I am and sde. Earning less as I have to have wfh. 15-20lpa, currently in lead with about 6+ yoe. Plus some on the side. I am interested in data science. I have been studying. But how do I make the switch. Will my sde exp be counted? Which companies to approach. Should I do projects? Please help.

So hello Everyone , A short intro , i am a 2023 grad , fumbled a 32 lpa SDE job in last round in college placement . I was among the last 2 out of 500 students and the other guy got selected or you can say i run out of luck.🙂 This left a scar ,guilt and trauma, however got placed as a cloud engineer during last week of my college. I always wanted to do development and create stuffs . My current role is more of a support so now I want to switch . Yoe :1 year 2 months Salary:9 lpa (7.5 base) Fully remote i had solved around 220+ questions on leetcode and had a good grip on DSA but it’s been a year since i solved any questions there. So now i will again start coding and solving leetcode from STRIVER A to Z dsa course and working on harkirat 0-100 development projects. I aim to make myself interview ready at the end of week 5 while keeping my current job and then look for interviews during my notice period. I am ready to take a leap of faith and grind hard . I will keep updating on every Sunday about number of questions and development projects i worked on . Hope it motivates you all to improve and get better at life . I am going to use this sub to record my weekly improvements . I am open to any suggestions by my people here . Wish me luck ✨

I work for a Series A start-up in Bangalore. I have 5 YOE and my current base is 21 LPA and ~5L worth of ESOPs a year. Seeing Grapevine salary charts, I feel I might be underpaid. Should I negotiate or look for other opportunities or is the base I am getting now alright?

Software engineer with 2.5 YOE working for US based mid sized company with CTC of 25 LPA base + 1.7 lacs bonus + 10 lacs worth esops. Just wanted to know is this upto the market or should i look for better opportunity. Looking for answers . P.S Its a permanent wfh

Have been working in this service based MNC for more than 3 years being given the domain of company’s choice ni change even after requesting for change through ijp. Preparing for switch and really want to work on SDE role as I have build stuff in college days and before getting selected in this mass hiring. Want to build stuff rather than just validate it but will it be okay to switch to dev role after 3.5 yoe what can be the challenges and consequences that I might have to face? What would you suggest moving from manual qa to sdet first or directly to sde roles? While being paid less than 6ctc what should be expected ctc?for switching to sdet or sde with no prior experience only self learnings through courses? Working in service based company for these many years which companies to target for both learning and earning growth?

I have started looking out for a switch due to layoffs going on in my current organisation. I have got an offer of 20 LPA fixed. What is the max I can expect for SDE 1 position as SDE 2 requires atleast 2 years of experience?

I am a full stack engineer and looking for a job as a remote employee with a company in the EU. I am wondering if there is an upper limit on what these companies can pay. I am thinking of aiming for a salary in the 50k-60k range or the 80k-100k range. I need to get a general idea of what is realistic and what is not before applying for jobs.
