How inflated is your current CTC?

Hey guys, I am a fresher, will be joining SAP LABS INDIA soon. I was offered stock options worth 8.4L over 4 years. I have been looking for vesting period details but not much info is available online. If someone here knows about it, please share the details. Thanks!! I have seen companies adding food, transportation and all sort of random benefits in CTC to artificially inflate it. Some add higher education reimbursements under certain conditions which are almost never met.

Even after getting a good percentile in CAT I didn't receive any interview calls from IIM's.But decided to move forward with a Tier 2 MBA in Bangalore.I am the topper of my batch and have worked hard to improve my skillset in various areas.I am determined to crack higher packages in the upcoming placement season.How to go about this?

Hey, I am SDE with 2YOE getting 10LPA. Here I could see many folks posting their CCTC as 30LPA, 35LPA or even beyond for 2-3years exp. How is it possible? What you guys work with? How many of you guys have such high CTCs? Plz share your journey so i can pick up good stuff from it. Thank you

i'm a '23 cse grad - offered 60LPA (fixed) + variable (up to 3x of base) as a quant researcher. this offer is strictly "off-campus" (i come from a tier-3 college) and is a result of me switching careers. am i high-balled? low-balled? note: i used to make 30-40LPA as a freelance writer in college before this.

I have a general question around MBA salaries. I see many colleges boasting about their placements and salaries. The salaries are >30LPA for most tier1 colleges. Are the figures quoted by B-Schools base salary or Total Compensation inclusive of base, stock and other variable pay?

Hello Grapeviners, What is with Indian recruiters wanting to know your CTC as the very first step of hiring? And when asked to share the ctc range in which the role falls, they refuse to share. So basically they just want to lowball candidates based on their current CTC and parity is a joke? Now If a recruiter denies sharing the range for the role and insists on knowing my CTC, I run! What are your thoughts?

Current CTC - 10 Lakhs New CTC - 20 Lakhs Is this 100% hike? May NOT be. What if 20 Lakhs includes a 20% bonus (not in the previous CTC)? What if 20 Lakhs includes 2 Lakhs of ESOPs (not in the previous CTC)? What if 20 Lakhs includes allowances that are useless (not in the previous CTC)? ****** The term “CTC” is NO less than a SCAM in India. I don’t know any other countries that use the term “CTC”, do you? And that’s why in India,  Your in-hand salary will always be MUCH lower than CTC, 100% always. Let me repeat: “Cost to company” is NOT equal to “Your Income”. There is always a leakage. ******** Companies will NOT change this practice in India. But YOU can, so: -STOP asking what my CTC is going to be? -START asking what my “TAKE HOME” is going to be? TAKE HOME matters the MOST!! #copied
