I was very curious about how they were able to fetch vehicles in my name and just magically show it up!

I saw a thread on Reddit where someone said that they were able to access it because we’ve given it access to Gmail! But I have not

I’ve not given Cred access to my main Gmail account, only a dummy email that I use for promotional stuff!
No access to messages, or phone!

Then how did they get it ?

I was just wondering how CRED managed to execute the feature in Garage, where a correct model and accurate colour are displayed for each vehicle model. I am aware that there are APIs that provide text info on giving vehicle numbers as input, but the image is not provided in these APIs

How does CRED garage have a 3D model of every vehicle?

I know that we give out our credit card details and email for each credit card that we add.

I called customer support they agreed taking data from email and sms(on iPhone sms reading is not allowed so only email there).

Whenever we do transaction on credit card we get email about it, maybe they are reading it in real time and storing the same info?

I doubt they are reading E-Statements, so I went ahead and looked into EMI that I started, no email from bank about breakup of emi but still it always showed up in my CRED statement. The thing is that on doing EMI first they show all amount is debited from card limit then in statement they deduct first month emi then next month and so on.

This is seems difficult to track manually by CRED so it makes sense that they look into locked pdf E-Statemnets. Opening them is easy most of the time and every bank has standard like 4letters of name and card number

But icici asks name and birth date and CRED does not have that I hope, so please correct me if you work at CRED

Is Cred a business or just a long party? If they are a business then how do they make money? What do they stand for - currently it just looks like a hangout place for super privileged bros?

What is Cred’s business model?

Cred is truly a topic of surprise for me. Yes, I understand it has created a community of top spenders/credit worthy people in India. I also understand that they can use the information on such people for creating value for themselves.

Being a cred user, I only use it to pay the bills. I really wonder if they have built any b2b business or alternative source of income beyond what's seen to the end user. What's the game plan for the cred? 

I also applaud the fact that cred hasn't laid off people having paid them better than most companies. I really wonder if the business is really that strong or the conviction is. Would you join cred if given a chance to work there?

I feel cred is doomed and just trying to increase its value. 
 And the end goal is to sell the cred to someone with higher value and make money.

Like fuck me, the entire video about the real world car moving through the real world, entering an actual garage and all of that to in the end basically sell me a tracker for my e-Challans and Fastag.

Isn’t it just a glorified “Account aggregator” integration?
Also, looks like they are riding on some TSP’s AA gateway/bridge for fetching the details.
So zero points for any innovation.

All in all again so much hype for an aesthetically pleasing UI!!
