How people in private sector are handling this ?
You are being judged and measured every day. Every quarter your new ratings are being published. Every here and then your colleuges are getting fired and you dont know when suddenly it would be you. Such a peer pressure with huge amount of people competing for same shitty life. How are you guys able to work around this ?
Have enough savings to sustain yourselves for 1-2 years without a job and be interview ready at all times.

Getting fired once. Not laid off, but fired. Not for performance, but for politics. It takes really takes the edge of the fear of losing your job. Keep your integrity, have moral courage, do your job, do the right thing. If you still lose your job, that's because people in your company sucked.

The main thing is being content with what you have. Don't be complacent, Seek growth for yourself and see job in one company as a part of career not the whole career. Just don't fight the corporate war of being first and the best employee gimmick then you'll slog more and get fake goodwill.
