How rich and upper middle class Indian students make it without any househelp in the States?
This question has been seriously bugging me for sometime. How do rich and upper middle class kids manage abroad in US and UK like countries? They won't get any house help like a maid to cleanup their room, nor a cook to make their food. I mean I am assuming they have grown up with this sense of entitlement and with utmost privilege their parent were able to provide them in India. Is it easy to give up the previous tantrums and lifestyle conditions and just suck it up for the next few years? Also the weather is so cold at some places that you feel like getting out of the bed, let alone cooking and cleaning!
How do these top 1 percent kids manage? Does the US humble them? Now, I don't agree with the reasons that the US has dignity of labour and crap. I know if for a fact that if labour laws of minimum wage, taxes and welfare were to vanish, all the Americans will end up having a personal Buttler at diet cheap prices. It is more about these welfare schemes reducing the inequality in society.

Care to explain how the laws of minimum wage will just "vanish"? Because that's where you haven't thought enough about how the world works. You can't make these laws go away. What democracy does is it makes the vote of a 1 rich man = 1 poor man. There is strong social cohesion and consensus in the US regarding these laws. They're aren't going to just go any time in the future, unless of course in your fantasy world where events happen without any justifiable cause.

It depends on context and street smartness of the kid.
1 friend went to London for masters (india family income over 2cr anual)
He's living with gujju house mates and found a software internship in some startup there, gets paid more than ubereats driver/ store cashier part time job so he now takes care of majority of rent for all and in return doesn't have to wash bartan / cook food as this being handled by the group. As for the cleaning and clothes it's not labour intensive due to machines so all share equally.
Not every "rich kid" is dumb self entitled papa ki pari/ para, they're willing to work given the circumstances some just don't want to do household chores due to upbringing.
They cry about in on instagram reels to make them feel better about themselves
We pick up our own shit, clean our own rooms and cook our own food.
You know, like responsible grown up adults who know basic housekeeping.
Every middle/upper class kid, in my opinion, goes abroad to study knowing how much work they’ll have to do there. Yes, it’s not easy at first. Things can feel very overwhelming when you have to take care of your house as well as studies all alone. But eventually you learn to work and finish your chores. You learn to allocate time to every task and ensure that you stay organized. Meal prep is huge in western countries so it’s not very difficult to cook a lot over the weekends, freeze it and eat all of that during the week, thereby saving time. Laundry is done once a week or once in two weeks and take two hours maximum. Almost everyone gets part time jobs, TAs or internships to earn a little extra cash so that we can splurge from time to time.
Not every upper/middle class kid is entitled. We all learn to work hard and make a good living for ourselves. Over time, it becomes easier to live abroad without any house help than live in India with all the amenities.
