How to start with stock market ?

I understand to create significant wealth you either invest regularly or build your own business. I definitely want to start with the first and get into stocks, options and anything that can help me trade short term. So how to start preparing for it considering I have zero knowledge of fundamentals and hands on practice of platforms

Mutual funds. Mutual funds. Mutual funds.

Unless you're a finance major or a noob with hours and hours to spare to research on companies.

But honestly, do you think you can invest better than trained investment professionals? I tried and failed. Must've lost a couple of lakhs doing dumb things. Now, almost always it's 98% MF and 2% stocks and that too, only large companies which I'm 100% sure will kill it, in a 3+ year horizon.

But yeah, if you back yourself, go for it. Don't listen to me :)

Start with mutual funds, preferably large cap index funds. When you're comfortable with the stock market you can start investing directly.
