I feel like I made a mistake. What now?
Context: Hated my life in my previous job, work wise it was not bad.
Now, I don't hate my life as much, but work wise, it's really not good.
Wayyy too operational, pressuring and salesy. I chose this, but I thought I would've been given some more time to mentally prepare myself, which didn't happen.
Here's the kicker: the company is great, pay is also not bad. Not sure what I'll do if I'm not here and it was tough getting here. Recruiting hell leeches on me.
What can I do now? Any advice?

Hey ,
Breaking a bit out of character here because I've been in a similar position in life previously and could share some insight.
I spent about 1.5 years in a similar role (sales at big tech). Made sure to learn as much about how large companies/teams work as possible.
I felt sales wasn't for me, and also large companies (slower growth) wasn't for me. Ultimately made the shift when I felt I was not learning anything new.
You could follow a similar process at your end. Absorb this life for a few months at least.
Hey can you share some insights how you managed to overcome from the phase after u made the shift? About to experience this in next 2 weeks as my LWD is oct30

Thank you! Trying to do the same.
If you don't mind me asking, which field did you pivot to?

It’s not the job or life. It’s the present you are allergic to.
My present is composed of my job. After all, I spend 8 hrs/day 5 days a week in it

Suck it up. It's not easy anywhere else or getting anywhere else. Find your fulfillment outside work.

That's very nicely put.
I've been struggling to feel complete with work and skillset but it's only eating me up.
Thanks man, got a new perspective.
if you are getting paid good as per your acquired skills, it’s okay as long as your mental health is okay & only way it will actually be okay is by having a healthy thought process.
Have a positive thought process towards life and you will be less-bothered by stupid shit that comes our way in life for no reason but u can either get all fucked up by it or accept the reality and make the best out of it because always gotta remember one thing,
- everything in life is temporary. Good-bad, happy-sad, negative-positive etc.
everything comes and goes but it’s upto
you how take it or feel about it.
you can’t change future but you can change your thought process and learn how to deal with not good times in life without/less affecting your mental
health.
tip: upskill yourself & learn new things that will
be beneficial for your career, work for a year & switch. can switch earlier as well if lucky but for that u have to
keep an
eye out for other opportunities // also NOTICE PERIOD is a factor as well.
turns.

Pay is good? Endure. Stop thinking just about what you need in present. But your responsibility. Your future. Your family. Don't live just for yourself.
Spend few years, take a switch.
Trying to do that. I'm 22 and I can't help but think "what if?" every stinking day
