I want to start going to the gym, but a part of me is scared.

My current employee is offering a gym membership as part of employee benefits (not free, gotta pay some money so its seen as something you've paid for and make use of it, rather than taking it for granted if its kept free). I've been living a sedentary lifestyle for the past 1.5yrs as I had been under quite a lot of depression rollercoaster and loss of job and endless job hunting. But I've now decided it's time to bring back my fitness and stay in my best health form and live a healthy lifestyle. I also want to force myself into getting comfortable with living life outside of the comfort zone (atleast for most of the time). And hence, took up this gym membership. But now, I'm having random fears of what if my body isn't actually in good condition to bear workout ? I have some unknown skin rashes and allergies that appear and disappear randomly. What if there's an underlying issue that I need to take care of ? What if workout might make it worse ? I've also seen people fainting to their last breath after joining gym to get back in shape. (I might be overthinking but these are real concerns though) Is there any way I can have myself checked and make sure I can go ahead and take this leap of faith ?
