ROI matters. ABC triumph over ISB. Having said that the folks of ISB get equal weightage as the folks of ABC in the market.

Majorly disagree. You havent accounted for the opportunity cost in terms of salary forgone for an additional year ROI wise ISB wins any day if u are a decently capable student. You will also start early in your career and growth compounds post MBA.

Fee of ISB is twice that of IIMs so that adjusts opportunity cost. Also ISB doesn’t give you an “MBA”. With regards to start early - batch average at ISB is somewhere around 4.5 or 5 and that of ABC is 6-7. Doesn’t make much diff imo

Learning in ISB less than learning anywhere else.. Simple reason.. Less time, but same course load. There is only so much you can cram, humans need time to absorb, assimilate, apply. Never understood the point of going through MBA as a crash course (ISB)

Tell me you don’t know anything about ISB without telling me you know anything about ISB

Ok sir.

I am from one of the premium MBA college, served in placecomm, interacted with people across the spectrum, work with people who studied in ISB, now even have junior team members from ISB... But i dont know more than Mr snarky comment.. Enlighten the world knowledgeable sage.

Consulting, Tech - both open same doors Finance, FMCG - IIMs are marginally better

Purely from peer group perspective IIMs have a large percentage of freshers which can be a positive or negative basis where you fall.

As someone rightly called out all of these places will open doors exclusively for you or faster but after that it’s mainly your performance and network that helps in career development. No special red carpet.

That said, with the pedigree people always assume you are smart unless you prove otherwise which is something other colleges don’t automatically get :) so you get an advantage there and people are willing to listen more to your opinion. This stays lifelong

ISB does not have as much value. It is harder to get into IIMs ABCL, XLRI, FMS when compared to ISB. Speak to people who are not in ISB and decide .

As someone who is not from any of these B Schools, let me also tell you that once you get into a job after 5 years, these brands won't matter. You are as your last brand in job market

B School will give you a good opening which will propel you forward. Long Term depends on what opening you get

IIM ABC are higher in my opinion. ISB is good if you want to go into consulting but for rest ABC are better

How is ISB for product roles if a person with analytics experience joins there?

ISB is valued equally in my eyes. You can get very similar job outcomes. However if you are a deep finance person IIMABC are still a better option. ISB is great for consulting and tech

I have worked with any top tier MBA graduates but ISB people are best with high emotional intelligence and empathy!
