Check ur form 16 what amount is appearing. U can proceed with that.

As I paid 1L interest on education loan so my current employer approved the deductions under 80E. 

However, the deduction amount under 80E is 2L basis the pre-filled info in ITR. 

What if I do not modify the deduction amount? Please advise!

I had taken up a 5 year tax saver FD in previous financial year. Due to some weird reason, my company had rejected it and this investment under 80C does not reflect in Form 16. 
Now while filing ITR, should I add this amount of FD under 80C?

It was a mistake that I selected the new regime thinking that it would be easy to switch back to old one during ITR Filing, but now I do not have proofs such as the premium amount paid (for parental and self insurance taken from company), sodexo vouchers received, since nothing is mentioned in the Form 16. Is my salary slip enough for showing as proof if I receive a notice, or is it necessary to have separate receipts for these deductions that I will be claiming? Anyone else in a similar condition as I am, please share your experience.

Seems like since last year the focus of government has shifted from actually making beneficial policies to enable innovation and growth of India to just collecting taxes blindly. 

They just want to harvest tax in as many ways possible and kill the middle class person.

First it was crypto. 

Then us salaried individuals started receiving notices. 

Then they levied 28% GST on online gaming. 

Now they are also checking proofs for HRA allowance and other stupid stuff which wasn't done before. 

I was wondering why there is a sudden increase in such incidents? Is the government hiding something? Are they running out of money?

Or are they just smoking weed just like us and making stupid rules?

This government’s primary intention is to collect more and more taxes in whatever mean’s possible. They don’t give a f**k about anything. And then will brag every month/quarter about record GST collection! This government is pathetic to say the least! No accountability and arrogance is at its peak. I was filing itr, so needed help, I started my job from May 2022, but before that I did an internship where I got salary credited to my account , it was around 1500 for one month (March) for this assessment year and also they did deduct a tds of around 300 rupees which I can see on my itr home page . So should I include those amount in my gross income while filing tds ( I have only included my current gross salary) ?

Help! Rs 38K income tax on 8.8L CTC (50 yrs old middle class man)

I paid 4.8L Tax and my CA somehow managed to get back 30k refund. Wanted to know if people here in similar bracket or higher .. Have managed get higher refund.
I chose old slab coz the greytHR portal said I’ll save more in that.
I don’t have a housing loan,
I have shown HRA , insurance and mutual funds

I just started my first full time job and will be filing ITR for 1st time next year, no one in my family has been in high tax slab previously so not much experience from there :D

Some questions:

- Almost 50% of my base pay is getting used in paying EMIs (Mostly mortgage) of my family, nothing is on my name, all on father's name, is there a way to claim this in deduction ?

- We have our own house in a tier 3 city and I'm getting 30k/month as HRA, what will be safe HRA amount to claim ?

- Can we claim any other expenses in deduction ? Leave travel allowance seems useless to me as I'm working remotely.

- Which tax regime do you prefer ? New or old ?

I could have done investments to save taxes but nothing is left after all the expenses and nothing on my name 😛

I received my internship (that I did in my final year) stipend in July with 10℅ tds deduction under 194JB that is mentioned I  

Later same year I joined other other company full time and received  regular salary and received another form 16.

I am filing itr for first time actually I Have got money credited from two places one tds comes under section 192 which is my salary account and other from where I did intern which is 194JA which is related to professional or technical services provided now ? Help me choosing which itr 1,2,3,4? And where should I add the other amount the salary amount is automatically comming under gross salary and I don't have form 16 for intern stipend although I can see that under my ais/tis and form 26as ?

Hi All,
  I switched to a new company last year and because of penalty clause, my joining bonus is deducted from the f&f settlement of the previous company. The issue is in my form 16 they have included it in my total earnings. Now my old employer is not correcting it. Whats the way forward? Can i correct it while filing ITR?

If I increase my PF contribution for this year will this works for saving tax (New Regime)?

I am wondering how people do ITR filing when they’re directly receiving payment from their clients abroad (inward remittance) on their own name (no company created for offering ur service) as well as have their monthly salary ? As much as I’ve read you would be filing ITR-4 but then wouldn’t this reveal to ur current or next employer that u worked 2 places?
Really curious to know as it’s ITR filing time.
