We all know that majority of analysts and experts are optimistic of Indian Economy. It will be going to be the 10 trillion dollar economy by 2030 as per most. So we can make good amount of money in long term ( 15-20 years ). I am also investing in stock market ( majorly in index funds and self analysed stocks ). Also seeing current developments myself too optimistic about this. Prediction is if BJP wins this election will boost the market. 

But my concern is what if BJP have done huge scam internally which is unknown due to huge control over government currently. And what if that scam bubble break one day. Isn’t this going to make our long term investment to go negative and loose most investments. Even though I have soft corner on BJP, by seeing only ED raids on non-bjp politicians, if non-bjp person joins BJP his scams are waived off. I think this might have given huge advantage to some cunning MLAs and MPs of bjp and they might have done huge scams and one day it may break. 

It’s my thoughts. What all you think? Is there any scam bubble in progress?

Had a chat with a legendary soonicorn founder yesterday evening and his take was that we are definitely not getting another bull run this decade.

I obviously think more optimistically and hopefully things will look up soon.

What do you all think about this tho?

We'll probably get to the #3 spot if things go well. But it seems impossible that we'll ever go beyond that.

Internal reasons that are very hard to fix:-

(1) Our population TFR fell below standard replacement rate in 2023. This means we will not be able to follow the same economic growth trajectory required to reach developed status before population stagnation or declination. This is not a death knell but definitely very VERY bad news.

(2) Our blue-collar workforce skill levels are not only subpar but are slowly falling behind the world standards every year. Much of our youth aim to join government orgs like the Army or the Railways which train for the job later, not before. Despite a national shortage of skilled plumbers, electricians etc, our vocational training orgs have been unsuccessful in attracting people towards these careers as well as churning out skilled workers.

(3) Our bureaucratic environment is extremely slow with pathetic turnaround times on initiatives. This is not government specific and has always been the case so it seems like this will always be. This is not even a problem unique to India as many other countries have been facing this too but it is still a factor that negatively impacts our growth massively.

I wish it was just internal reasons but a large part of it also comes down to both China and US being aggressively great at ensuring their successes:-

(1) Chinese manufacturing seems nearly impossible to overcome - not just for India but also for the US. Yes, we might win over some industries and companies like the US, Vietnam, Thailand etc. have been doing but the amount of autocratic control in China allows them to crush competition easily. Case in point - the recent tussle between India and China on solar manufacturing which China won by autocratically lowering their prices.

(2) If de-dollarisation succeeds, it will benefit China the most because (contd. in comments)

Title. Can India become a developed nation by 2047 irrespective of which political party is in power. If not 2047 then atleast 2060 or 2070?

Can India become a developed nation by 2047.

Both indexes began diverging sometime close to when Fed started to aggressively hike rates. It appears that the post-COVID rally was more favourable to the S&P but NIFTY is currently outperforming on absolute returns.

My idea is fundamentally simple. Financial prudence during the raging recovery paid off for us, the economy appears resilient and poised to do well in the near to mid-term. It also reflects that markets are pricing recessionary risk very differently to both markets.

Any ideas by others?

The US is in its late stage capitalist phase, a ship that's going to sink for the next 50 years. If you're a young person there it doesn't make sense to work as hard as your Grandpa the reward on average isn't as great. 

India on the other hand is poised to become a great multi-trillion $ economy.

Onto something huge. We're talking like 10x growth of the economy here.

Start-ups that have made it like Razorpay, Swiggy, PayTM, even Cred, if they survive will be really huge as capital in the country, liquidity and lifestyles go up over the next 50 years. 

Be the capitalist, take the risks, make bets, work and stack up promotions and money.

Don't join an Infosys and work 70 hours there, do it for a start up of any scale you believe is going to make it. Or better yet start your own.

Work hard and build in India 🇮🇳

India represents an untapped potential for greater Internet penetration+advancements in Speed compared to other advanced economies. 

This should ideally unlock greater data generation per capita. This will ideally allow us to map geo-specific patterns across e-commerce/social-networks/OTT/Finance/Healthcare/EdTech etc. 

Data as a moat may just be real. Think of how you can switch to:

Data Engineering > ML/AI/Data Science > Analytics

Having YOE under your belt when the wave picks up will take you further than anyone else.

We are in a big cycle where India will become everything great. Last 8 years have taught me that we are in the greatest momentum bet of this country's life time. So, don't rule out India. 

Build in India. Invest in India. Believe in India. 

There are many in this community that are complete nihilists and supremely bearish towards India's prospects. And let me tell you, for once in this country's history, being a complete maximalist on India is a bet that you will not regret. 

There will be a new generation of millionaires and billionaires that will be minted on new industries. So keep hustling and this country will unleash great dividends for you and your legacy.

- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) slightly exceeded first-quarter revenue expectations but remains cautious about future growth due to volatile market conditions, according to CEO K Krithivasan.
- Customers are holding back on tech spending in preparation for economic uncertainties, impacting demand for Indian IT services since FY23.
- TCS reported a 5.4% rise in consolidated revenue to 626.13 billion rupees and an 8.7% increase in net profit to 120.40 billion rupees for the June quarter.
- The company secured deals worth $8.3 billion, down from $13.2 billion in the previous quarter, with significant contributions from mega deals like BSNL and Aviva.
