- More than 200 children died and about 120 survived with some disabilities due to the poisoning, which caused acute kidney disease.
- The companies must pay up to 60 million rupiah ($3,850) per affected family, though parents had asked for much higher amounts.
- Investigations revealed the syrups contained dangerously high levels of ethylene glycol, a chemical used in antifreeze.

Nestlé’s baby food brands including Cerelac and Nido added sugar in the form of sucrose, in lower and lower-middle income countries including India — but not in the products sold in Europe or UK, according to a report by Swiss investigative organisation Public Eye and International Baby Food Action Network (IBFAN).

The research was conducted at a lab in Belgium, and examined Nestlé’s baby food products from Asia, and Africa branded as Cerelac, Nido, Mucilon and Dancow. These contained an average of 3 grams per serving, and in some cases up to 6 grams. Similar products tested in the European markets showed no added sugar. A Nestlé India spokesperson has attested that the company has reduced the sugar content in the baby product portfolio by 30% over the past five years, NDTV reported. In 2022, the sales on these products exceeded Rs.20,000 crore in India alone.

Nestlé has been under the scanner in the past for similar violations in several African countries. Reports from the 1970s raised the alarms on their unethical marketing practices in an effort to push artificial feeding over breastfeeding.

India has been experiencing high number of heart attacks in recent years and that too at very young age. I always used to say that these vaccines were the reason behind it and here we are. I have personally lost someone close due to this. But the problem is that who do I blame this on? I see news reportings that people will drag the company to court. Some are saying the govt is at fault here as they promoted it.

But I feel the covid times were so tough that no one knew what to do. No one knew whether these vaccines actually worked or not. But everyone was ready to grab them. We all knew the number of trials were less but still we asked for it.
So, I am still in a dilemma on who to put the blame on because let's face it this is a huge f**k up.

I am working as SDE 1 in a good Indian startup. It's getting toxic day by day. Late night workings like 3AM and working on weekends is normalised like anything. Since I am new to IT ( no sort of politics never) and have almost 2.5 Years of experience, I am facing issues in getting credits. Last appraisal cycle in January, I was nominated for promotion but wasn't given to me, reason: you have not worked with architect and he was making decisions. In that case, architect should have been distributed tasks to us. 

one SDE3 is leading one of the projects ( not a big one ) and manager/architect is not much interested and never join any standup or retro, I have contributed immensely to that. Now since it is completely driven by sde 3 , he takes updates from us and show his work infront of seniors and director + announces like his work and seldom we get thank you in threads. Like if you did one function or wrote complete flow, for both thank you. Because of all these reasons, my work is not getting recognised. There is no one in team to help in this. 

Whenever a manager or Architect show cases some features or release, it's pretty evident that his team has done it but when a sde 3 does it, it is not the same. It conveys the message all or 90% work is done by him. 

I would like to take some suggestions from my seniors and fellow mates here.
