Is Jio Cinema as bad as people say it is?
I've heard a few people complaining about Jio Cinema saying it's a typical lala place to work at but if you think about it, it can be a great opportunity to learn and a good place to add in your resume provided you work there for a long time. Literally every company has bad rep online be it blind, fishbowl, grapevine etc. What do you all think about this?
I have worked in Jio and Jio subsidiaries for a while. When you compare Reliance Retail and Reliance Hydrocarbon business with Jio, yes there's a huge difference in work culture and the ways of work. However Jio and other tech subsidiaries are still far behind compared to new age companies. While it's not a typical lala work place, the DNA is of a hybrid company i.e Trying to be a new age co while still struggling with it's Lala baggage from HC business.
However things might have changed since then.

Tech role, Product or Biz role? Degree of exposure to the lala nature of work depends on that. Also, how far are you from the HQ (in NM). Spent 3 years in Jio (apps) and experienced things from up-close.
I don't think else why would Arnav Gupta stay at helm since a long time
Hey there! I can write this answer in confidence because I have a few years of experience working with Jio Cinema. I started out my career with them and I don’t have too many complaints here as I had just started out, so it was more of a learning and earning experience for me.
I find the workplace pretty decent and yes, though the environment, policies, and experience may be different than its other subsidiaries, I found it to be safe and comfortable. Even on Glassdoor, Jio has an above-average rating of 3.7/5 for its workplace culture, salaries, and other pointers.
The work-life balance here is good and there are very less chances to get fired, as I have heard that they fire employees only if there is a strict policy issue or other fraud. But, like you said it definitely is a great place and opportunity to learn, grow, earn, and add to your overall experience.
