Is it normal?
I cleared all 6 rounds of a PM interview with an Edtech startup. The HR asked for current offer letter, 2 references (current and previous manager), and a couple of other docs. Then ghosted me for 2 weeks. When I followed up, the HR said they are in-process of interviewing other candidates Is it normal to do this now a days? I understand the company wants to interview more people. But then why ask for any details from me till you are sure that you are going to give an offer

Personally i find any company requiring more than 3 rounds of interview as harassment. I once attended 8 rounds of interview with an edtch for PM role. Spread over 4 months. It was 2019, i took the ofer letter. Never showed up on the joining date. Had them delay the joining date by another month and still never turned up.
I think i got blacklisted there. Never got a job offer from them after that.
8 rounds seem a lot. I don't think even FAANGs take as many rounds. Or if they do, it is on a single day at office

What's your current salary? yoe?
At what stage did they ask you your salary?
Is there a salary band?
21+Esops at 3 yrs in PM + 2 in consulting
They asked before they started interviewing
No salary bands, startups don't really have bands

Move on.
Been there, experienced that (4)
seriously, sucks man
This company asked for references that irked me more. Unnecessary disturbing people in my network if you yourself are not serious
