Been working at my current org for almost 2 years now. It’s a dead end job, my growth has been stagnant for almost 6 months now. Wanted to switch but companies I interviewed at put their hiring on hold. 

So decided to move to Canada since I always wanted to move there for atleast some part of my life. Got an offer letter from a college in Vancouver in PGDip in Web and mobile app dev.

But the situation in canada has been bad due to the ongoing recession. People asking my parents “why does he want to move? There are no jobs.” My friends in Canada been supporting me saying there ARE jobs and economy will bounce back in 2 years time when my course ends.

I’m having second thoughts. I can’t take a lot of time either since I am already late in the immigration process.

I am 24 years old. I graduated in 2021 and had total 13 backlogs during UG and it took me 5 years to complete my degree. I am unemployed since my graduation and have been wasting my time on learning random things or multiple technologies at a same time. 2 months ago I decided to go to Canada for masters and my family supported me, my friend suggested me MS Data Science because he is Data Scientist in Canada. So, I gave IELTS in March and scored 7 band. Recently I had a talk with an Agency named Canam. And they suggested me to get Experience Letter + offer letter + LOR from employer + last 6 months payslip also Backlog Certificate from college but I don't have any of these things. What should I do in this situation? How should I move forward? How can I get my life on track? I'm just confused and not sure what should I do.

> I was preparing for govt services but now I dropped preparation and want to go to Canada or USA in may 2023 when should I give IELTS exam so I can target may 2023 batch.

Any suggestions or criticism on this decision will be highly appreciated. If anyone thinks this is not right decision to go abroad because of recession or because of another thing please point that out.

Honestly I do not know for what I am passionate about I just want to move out of my house because I feel like I am not growing as a person also my parents are very much worried about me.

So I am moving to Canada next week on a study visa, with mainly aiming to work in my field eventually (Software Developer). Any tips and suggestions for me? My short term goal is to finish my studies by the end of next year and get a full time job as a developer.

Hi folks,
I have a potential offer from a Toronto based startup, but the thing is that it is on-site role. The startup is really well known in the domain.

I'm currently earning 20LPA, remote role, living in my hometown. That role might get me 80-100k USD.

So now I have few doubts:

1. Visa process and all
2. Living expenses and quality of life
3 Situation in Canada (I've heard it's fucked up)

Any sort of relevant information would be really helpful.

I am getting an offer from MNC for onsite in Canada.
My wife is also a working IT professional.
We both together have CTC around 71LPA in India.

My Canada offer is around 90CAD yearly.
If my wife is also getting similar offer is it worth shifting to Canada
We have also kid of 2 years, so if we are moving to Canada we need to search for daycare.

I always wanted to work abroad hence I am thinking to pursue MS either from USA or Europe. Should I do MS now given the current market scenario?

My friend has 4 YOE as a software engineer and he is looking to move to Canada. If someone has applied for a PR as a tech person, can he/she share the process. We went through the process online, but I would like to know from someone who has been through this process and got a PR.  Also, if you can comment on the approximate time frame and cost that would be awesome.

Note- he has tried for onsite in his org but there are no opportunities. There are very few companies who offer jobs and visa directly from india. Hence, he is thinking of taking PR and then start applying to companies.

Moving to Canada as a software engineer

I’m thinking to goto US for studies for fall intake 2024, but I’m also worried what if recession won’t end even after I finish my studies, they say the current situation is very bad only around 20% graduates are getting job, whats your point on this? Will this recession end around 2026 ? Pls give me some light on this!

Is sep 2024 is the good time to go to US for studies?

I’ve total 4 years of experience in data engineering. I wanted to have on-site opportunities but in this market it’s not looking easy. ( Recently switched) 

So I’m thinking to utilise this time by pursuing masters from canada / aus. Do you guys think it’s safe to let go of the job and pursue msc?
