Anyone recently shifted to Canada?
Hi folks, I have a potential offer from a Toronto based startup, but the thing is that it is on-site role. The startup is really well known in the domain. I'm currently earning 20LPA, remote role, living in my hometown. That role might get me 80-100k USD. So now I have few doubts: 1. Visa process and all 2. Living expenses and quality of life 3 Situation in Canada (I've heard it's fucked up) Any sort of relevant information would be really helpful. Thanks!

Are you sure it is legitimate? From what I can recall companies need to issue a work permit for you to the Canadian Government
One way to be sure is to check their website and see the security or refinement of it
Yes, they are one of the biggest startup in their domain.
I know the founder personally.
They have offices in US and Canada. Coz of the difficulty of US Visa they suggested me Canada.

80 to 100K is a decent salary in Toronto as a starting salary you may not save a lot of money as rents are high but you can live comfortably. Quality of life is pretty good - no pollution, good public transport in the city, a lot of things to do and things to explore, a lot of nature trails less than an hour from the city.
Inflation is high and I think there are some political problems because it’s very left-leaning as a country then might get corrected in the next election. There’s a lot of anti Trudeau sentiment. healthcare is not as accessible because there’s a long wait time because of the free nature and subsidized nature of it.
But I would recommend taking it up if you want to explore a new country.
